I am trying to write myself some custom database software for my office. I was previously using ACT, but it was too complicated for some of my assistants, and they mixed up all the databases. So I am looking to compile, or pay someone here, to build me a custom database making program. What I would typically like it to do is prompt the person answering the phone, to ask for the name, SSN, etc. I need this to be fully customizable, searchable, and sortable. If anyone can recommend me on a good way of making this, or would like to help me, please post or PM me.
thanx

php+mysql is pretty easy. That's what all this runs on and I've coded several things using it (trading module, shoutbox, etc)

Why don't you just use Microsoft Access?

I am trying to make it more automated, and look like a program, like ACT, just customized and simpler. While I am sure there is probably some way to do that with access, my time is more valuable than figuring it out. So I just paid $100 to some guy to do it for me. Do you guys think that is a good price?

That's a good price as long as you're getting $100 worth of value out of it... and it will have some support if it doesn't work right for some reason.
