actually that would be very hard to do, just try to find the song without vocals, they are usually roaming around the internet...

There are plenty of vocal remover software.
Vocals are mixed in stereo music such that they are roughly the same in both channels. So, taking out what is same in both channels might remove the vocals to a certain degree.
Of course, the mastering reverb uses stereo imaging so the vocals won't be completely gone I guess. But, yeah, it would be possible using that trick.
just look for the instrumental version of the song

my sound card driver has a setting that lets me do that with the hardware. it messes up the instrumental sound a little bit but it works pretty good with most songs.

I think nero has a feature like that built in somewhere, or you could go out and buy a Karaoke disc if its a popular song.

Vocals are usually on the center channel, so those frequencies are removed and it mostly either gets rid of all the vocals and messes a little bit of instrumentals or else makes the vocals much quiter.
