I don't know about the validity of some of these "facts" when considering the following
[quotea55d287635]Some very Orthodox Jew refuse to speak Hebrew, believing it to be a language reserved only for the Prophets.[/quotea55d287635]
I grew up in an Orthodox Jewish community and this is the first time I've heard this rubbish.

some of them are what theyve been told and they ask if anyone can confirm or deny certain ones theyre not sure about......i see no reason as to why they would lie.....maybe the "fact" in question only relates to orthodox jews in the middle east or elsewhere.

Orthodox Jews in the Middle East speak Hebrew as a first language (in Israel, etc)...
Maybe I should email them.

Yeah the only othodox jews I know that arent allowed to speak hebrew was back in the day when women were still considered second class citizens they werent allowed to speak hebrew as it was considered a mens language and they spoke yiddish instead but that was again for a sect
However there have been several different times in history when Jews have not been allowed to speak or read Hebrew as it has been against the law for them to practice anything regarding their religion in the countrys they lived in
However it is not hard to figure out that this was just probably some rumor someone heard and reported in fact I've had many weirder things asked of me
For example I've been asked where my horns and tail are(completely serious), are you guys planning on taking over the world and many other strange questions by people that have never met a jew before.
Other strange facts their is a church in minn that brings out the body of a mummified girl on christmas and parade her arounds saying that this is what Jews will do to you that they wil suck your blood and mummify you.
aprox 50% of highschool kids do not know what the holocaust was yet the number of jews killed is almost equal to the number alive today I believe(im going from memory here) and yes there are many people that don't believe the holocaust even happened yet my Great grandfather lost his parents and 5 brothers and sisters to the nazis
sorry I'll stop now I dunno how I got off on such a tangent but I feel much better now

WTF PoPo? thats some crazy shit! yeah the way jews are treated even 60 years after the end of the 2nd World War is unbelieveable.......people have actually asked you those things??
thats really sad. hopefully you can rise above those kinda people cos they are the ones with the problem, not you and other jews.

lol yeah most of the people that have asked me questions like that didn't mean it in a harmful way they just didnt know any better(coming to college I was suprised at how many people had never met a jew before) and I try and be very open to questions like that so we usually sit down and talk and I do my best to explain and answer their questions, some of these people have become some of my best friends
