Have any of you paid to get a text ad and have actually gotten greens? I was interested in putting a text ad but not sure if it works.
p.s This is my 100th post lol

i really dont see how it would work.....most people on here are looking for trades and i doubt they would give someone a green without getting at least a green in return.....but thats just me, maybe it does work.

I did mine for 24 hours and didn't get any yellows or greens. You might be better off putting up an ad saying that you will pay for greens or you are trading for greens for a site.

On another note...Has anyone tried a text ad in a newspaper? lol Such as a free classifieds paper? I was thinking about that the other day. Would the paper accept something like that?

Maybe an ad paper would accept that. Seems like if someone saw a freeipods link they would be lazy and just type in www.freeipods.com

There was talk nearly a month ago about putting ads in the newspaper. People came to the conclusion that shortening your link with tinyurl would be a good idea.

Yeah. I would never dream of typing a whole link out. lol. I was thinking of and have been using cjb.net for shorter urls.

text ads here suck. i did the week long like and only get 2 yellows. save your money. the admins need to drive people to the ads if they want it to work. in the mean time, save your money.

What did you expect when you paid to put your referral link up on a site full of people who have been doing the free stuff for a while, and know about trades? Why give away a free green, when you could trade and get one in return?

I tried the paper ad. I put it in this free classifeds paper, and got thousands of calls but NO sign ups. I even got people promising to sign up, but no results.
So, moral of the story. It doesn't work.

There's no way a text ad on here looking for a free referral will work. I agree with slease about putting an ad up saying that you'll pay for greens or a specific trade you're looking for. The trade forum moves so fast, your requests are off the first page in a day.
I tried placing an ad in the local online classifieds and didn't get ANY responses whatsoever.
