[quote14b3e34415="-[ZoU]-Paradox"]Worked for me, almost twice the speed.

[quote14b3e34415]1. Type "aboutconfig" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages 2-3 times faster now

to make it even faster set browser.turbo.enabled to true.[/quote14b3e34415][/quote14b3e34415]

There's also an extension called Tweak Network Settings[=https//addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=327&vid=989]Tweak Network Settings, if you don't want to do it manually.

Yeah, another one I found was on TweakFactor[=http//www.tweakfactor.com/articles/tweaks/firefoxtweak/4.html]TweakFactor. They have a lot of different settings for different computers/connections. You need ChromEdit[=https//addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=17&vid=1028]ChromEdit to add them though.

Basically just some compatibility issues with certain scripts/codes. Although, Firefox is only in its infancy...I don't think it will be long before its the #1 browser.

wow...i believe every last one of you that it sped up your browsing.. but not me. i think it made mine slower.

imagine dialup.

...now imagine seriously thinking about killing a man for dialup speed.

--edit--

just so you all know this is my college internet and i have no choice but to use it since off-campus calls are 33 cents a minute... trust me, i'd have dialup if i could get it.

lucky for me i'm transferring
