Okay so I got a nextel because i get a discount through work and its got the annoying but fun walkie talkie shit. Anyway, i took my i860 in to the new local service center because the outside lcd had gotten cracked. Luckily i had insurance on my account so the expensive repair was free, and they changed my whole flip for free! Unfortunately they also changed my battery for free... Thats right they switched my brand new battery with a 4 year old one. How do i know its 4 years old? well i brought it back in the next day and asked why the battery indicator was acting funny and saying it was dying fast, the worker ran the number on the battery and told me the battery was 4 years old, funny since my damn phone isnt even a year old. He also blamed my friends for switching it and said i could buy a new one but thats about all he could do for me. So i emailed nextel and they said the same thing. Also the flip they used to replace it seemed lower quality or atleast the lcds did, they were washed out and dim. Sorry I just had to vent, this whole situation pissed me off so bad. The moral is Nextel runs a shady ass business and if its not taken care of i will switch service providers. On a good note, i use my phone now to remind me when my trials are ending, that is unless i want to keep the service, like blockbuster online.

I have had Nextel for about 7 years, it is not Nextel that sucks. Each Authorized Service Center is individually owned and operated. They are always looking to scam and make more money.

Hmm, I'll be sure to tell my brother about places possibly doing things like that.
He just switched to nextel a couple of days ago.

You can turn off the speaker for the direct connect.

I have Cingular...
In my opinion, Nextel is to cellular phones as IBM is to personal computers - they are really only around because they have effective business solutions.

The nice thing about the walkie talkie is that when your girlfriend calls you can just say a couple things and then end it rather than listening to her ramble on and on about stupid stuff like how the last hour and a half of her day was. x

I've been doing Nextel Customer Care for about 2 years. It so not bad, If I was going to get a nextel phone, I would always go to a Nextel Retail Sale and/or Telesales. They do have effective business solutions, but all in all, I don't need a phone with direct connect.
Imho, I have low expectations for all cell phone companies

Well as for customer care I dont know, but all the sales reps i have been to in person were cocky assholes. It will be cleared up with in a week im sure, i wont let this bullshit go on. I use my phone for work so half way through the day if it dies im screwed.

EatChex you do understand "business solution" right. Direct Connect allows a person to communicate with a group of people all at once more efficiently and less expensively than a conference call.
