Guess that I-Deal now has a deal where you have to fill out tax forms in order to redeem, maybe another way of not sending gifts? I don't really trust giving I-Deal my SS#.

YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PRINT, FILL OUT, AND SIGN A COMPLETED IRS FORM W-9 (DOWNLOAD THIS PDF FILE) AND RETURN IT TO US WITH YOUR REDEMPTION CERTIFICATE. WE MUST RECEIVE THIS FORM PRIOR TO THE DISSEMINATION OF YOUR GIFT. THIS CONDITION IS STIPULATED BY FEDERAL LAW.[/quote00f7ab2649]

Meh, I'd do it, but that's just me and I have no shame for sending out endless amount of personal information on the net.

I know that the IRS sees the money as income to you. I thought they were only requiring you to fill out the forms for items valued over $600 though. I am curious as to why gratis and the others don't do this.

I've wondered about that as well...stupid IRS. Coobro was waiting on a "Tax ID Number" a few months back, I wonder if they somehow pay tax on the gifts themselves? Someone here knows tax law I just forgot their handle...hopefully they'll post )
