i certainly think so......try this site..... allofmp3.com ......for all your downloading needs. record companies are trying to shut it down. fans are trying to keep it up. the 1st time i used it i put $50 in my account and downloaded about 46 full length cd's. the only kinda drawback is that you have to put money in your account before you can even search for music never mind download it. but 9 chances out of 10 they will have what you are looking for. most cd's average about $1.60. the way it works (or the way ive heard it works) is that the money they make doesnt go through record companies, it goes straight to the artist. not sure how that would work but if its true, then it cant be a bad thing. anyway give it a try, i doubt you will be dissapointed.

I was able to search for music before I signed up for it. I tried it, but they didn't have much of what I was looking for.

yeah they dont have as much as maybe itunes or real rhapsody, but i think for the price you cant beat it.

It used to cost half what it does now. Still good prices for music you can encode in any format you want.

Why not just use winmx? It's free.

or Kazza, Kazza Lite, and Soulseek. Even the free song caps from iTunes.

Cuz you're not supporting the artists and whatnot when you steal music.

You have perhaps listed 3 of the worst p2p programs ever developed. I'm going to request this thread be locked as this forum does not support the illegal download of music (or any other multimedia).

theysayjump

16-04-2005 10:56:21

those 3 sites/programs whatever are filled with spyware, and yes they are illegal..... allofmp3.com isnt though, and its safe, and it has no spyware......the P2P's may be free but theyre shit. thats just my opinion.

I thought the whole point of Kazaa Lite was that it didn't have spyware... and when I used SoulSeek a long time ago it had none either.

ThatGuy

16-04-2005 11:51:21

i was just listing them as other free ones, I don't use them anymore. And as far as supporting the artists go, what about all the people who burn cds? That is just as illegal. What about back in the day before there even were cds, remember tapes? Remember what we used to do with those? Even THAT was illegal.

I'm a HUGE music fan, matter of fact, I probably spend most of my money on music. I've been to a shitload of concerts, have a ton of autographs, and even hung out with bands after shows! I DO support the artists, because I myself am one. It has to be done, because if we lose site of the arts, they will be gone.

Correct on both accounts slease.

kazaa is filled with spyware. It even has trojan downloaders on it. Now, Soulseek, that's a different story. Soulseek is spyware and virus free.

Allofmp3's money does not go straight to the artist. The way the law works in Russia (where allofmp3 is located), they pay a small (VERY SMALL) amount of money to an agency that licenses them to play music. The issue is that here, there is a clear distinction between playing music in a store (for which the store owner is supposed to/usually does pay) and distributing digital copies of said music. In Russia, there isn't. So allofmp3 is legal in the sense that where it resides, it is not breaking any laws (Russian court upheld this). But it's at least immoral to download from them in the United States, seeing as how the artists see nearly nothing if anything from the sales.

That said, I use allofmp3 for lossless audio occasionally.

thanks for clearing that up admin, i was looking for something somewhere to actually explain it in a way i could understand.

on another note its the record companies who make the money anyway. they can charge $15 for a cd that they know people will buy, when it probably cost less than $1 to make......what percentage of that money goes to the artist? now in the case of an indie label, then i have no problems giving money to those because the majority of them support new/good(my definition of good)/unsigned bands, and who many believe in downloading and not paying extortionate prices for music.

i exculsivly use winmx to download music, (that i own the cds to of course) and i have never had a problem with spyware or viruses, i only use kazaa lite (also clean) for music videos. as for suporting the artists ive been to alot of concerts thats where the artists make most of there money anyways.

kazaa lite is also spyware free, i use a totally different program to dl music, STAY AWAY FROM KAZAA (the rugular one) ONLY N00BS OF THE INTERNET USE THAT.

back to the topic.. does allofmp3 carry cd-quality music? or does it sound like the radio or something cheaply burned? i want the loudest and clearest sound. not the cheap rip-offs you hear on some other mp3 sites ive seen.
