i cancelled and they said they would take the $89 off my charge card.
just accept the first little bottle, which is the trial at like....$4.
when you get it, you've obviously gone green and are safe to cancel.
thats what i did.

see why i say use webcertificate or a prepaid card they have the right to charge without notice or with small print why dont we have to right to choose how we pay

so are you saying gstan that you wont get any charges on your prepaid card if you have no more $ on it?

no, if the balance on your paypal virtual card or webcert is below what they are trying to charge, the charge is denied.

Its going to be tough for me not to lose it in this post. Appera charged be $89.95 for "Not Cancelling" however I filled out their cancelation form online and they replied that i didn't have an account. Then, conviently for them, one day after my free membership was up they sent me an email saying that my account was successfully cancelled. However that was not in time for them to bill my f-ing card! I tried calling, they said it was my fault, I flipped out on the phone with the lady...she started calling me obscene things...
Are there anyother options for me? I have my bank looking into it but will it be able to be overturned? This could be the end of Armstrong and putting my credit card number out there. Damn Appera...Please don't sign up for it, pick a different one if you can

Hmmm, every credit cards have dispute processes. Even if it was a CheckCard, being that it is carrying the Visa/MC logo you need to contact the number on the back of your card and start the dispute rolling. Going to the bank doesn't cut it...They are clueless

Im talking with my bank now. It is my Check card so they should be able to help me out. they said they'll get to it in ten days so we'll see.

I got a wonderful deal. I use a Wachovia Visa Buxx Card. What I do is I have this card made for just 13-17 year olds (I am 16). It is a prepaid card. So I load the amount needed for a referral from my Paypal debit card and when it loads I complete the referral. I never have more than $7 on it for more than 15 minutes. So even if they tried to overdraft me, you have to be 18 to accept some of these trials so the bank will bounce it because it has my actual age on file. ;)
Thats how I roll son...

Wish I had known that. My Appera arrived in the mail today - I also haven't gotten credit for it yet and it was a gratis site. I never got a confirmation email either.
I had a similar issue with another thing about being charged when I had canceled. I didn't even bother calling the company, I just called my credit card company and disputed the charge. They fixed it in less than 24 hours.

I guess it shows that nothings really free...even if you get the charge waved its still a ton of hassle...Clearchannel, nice idea, im going to check that out from here on out...
TO EVERYONE ELSE!! write everything down in an excel file or something. Cancel when you have to and don't think that you can remember it all because you can't...also don't try appera because their shady. ?

I did the appera offer, got credit, got it in the mail, and cancelled seemingly successfully. I still had plenty of time left to cancel, but after hearing about how they operate, I didn't want to give them a chance to screw me over.
I'm definetly using virtual cards from now on.

Appera Whitening should refund your money, If you did cancel the trial before ends - then they must refund all the money. Make sure that you did cancel before trial ended.
I got a charge of $39 or something like that for freebidding.com

When you sign up for a TRIAL - after the trial they should send you an e-mail were you confirm if
YES - charge my card I want to continue with the thing
NO - cancel everthing

I got charged too! I cancelled like 2 days after I signed up, and even got a confirmation number for my cancellation! I tried calling Appera but their message says to go to the website. I've submitted a number of "call back" requests but have yet to be contacted back. I keep getting bullshit emails but no refund.
I'm calling my CC company tomorrow. That was the only offer I did with my actual CC(instead of webcert) and I got burned.
Those fuckers have an F rating on Better Business Bureau too.

i told the guy "so you're telling me i just wasted $90"

They think that they can just charge you for whatever they want and say you didn't cancel in time. They know there product is crap and no one would legitamitly buy it...Talk to you bank and/or credit card company, show them your cancellation form and they should be able to reverse.
