Exposing freeweapons as border-line frauds

i posted this over at refstop as well as a similar topic. first of all i dont know whether they are a scam or not, i do know that their prizes are very misleading. compare these guns to the ones at supershot4free and you will notice the ones at freeweapons are not name brand and are actually spring guns, not electric. i understand what the owner tried to do on there... show everyone pics of these eye-catching knives and big guns and lead the common buyer unfamiliar with that stuff to feel like he hit the lotto.. "one ref for a great looking knife.. what a deal!!!" but really it is "one ref for a sub-$10 dollar knife.. not much of a deal"
the guns and knives at freeweapons are very cheap and for the amount of refs required is insane.. do a simple google search of the item you are looking at.. i found most those kives for under $10.. swords for around $30.. unlike the name-brand and high quality guns at supershot4free.. these guns are spring, not motorized meaning cheap.. here you can get those guns for under $50 http//www.firstlineindustries.com/sprinairrif.html
if you dont believe me, copy and paste the entire name of the weapon and google it.. yeah they look real pretty on there, but are actually cheap
do you honestly want to waste 5 referals on $50 guns when you can get an ipod or other quality items?
i hate to see you guys waste all this money on trading and paying for offers, when you could buy those same items for nothing.
i almost was conned into signing up for their site.. but luckily decided to search the guns and see what they retail.

Thanks for the info...
Wasn't going to do that site anyways. I'm a little too old for toy guns. ;)

even if you plan to resell them because there is such a low referal number needed.. you wont get anything at all for them...
I wouldnt really call this border-line fraud.
Its the consumer's responsibility to find out if they are getting a good or bad deal.
If someone is too lazy to google it, then they deserve to waste a referal on a $10 plastic spring gun. roll

i guess you are right... but their intentions are to con ppl not experienced with that stuff into doing their site.. probably make good money off it.. nice little trick, its morally wrong.. but what isnt anymore?

Morally wrong? I don't think I can agree with you there...
They aren't forcing anyone to sign up...
Offering an expensive service isn't wrong at all...

bad word choice.. but IMO, i just wouldnt do the site at all. im not stopping anyone from doing it.. just pointing out what some common viewers may have overlooked.
yah, you made some good points.
I used to sell these things on ebay...
They are literally worth next to nothing.
The AK is like $7 if you buy 50 at a time.
And the knives? Dont get me started....
$2..maybe $3 a piece ?

Yah, I dont get it.
I want an airsoft gun bad, I might do supershot4free, after I get my iPod, and I can show my friends about it.

I've got a Spyder Electra (black)...got rid of my BB guns, never owned an airsoft. I've got probably nearly 30 knives, none of which are fixed blade. I really like the site, but until I see someone received their gift from Supershot, I'm going to stay clear.

they are cheap and not worth 5 referals.
