Here's my question. Let's say the following happens

1. I sign up for yourfreevideoipod.com and complete an offer.

2. Several people I use as referrals use my computer to sign up and complete and offer as well. They would sign up using unique email, billing, and mialing addresses, but their IPs would be the same as the one I used in step 1 because it's the same computer.

Would those referrals count? Would they be DQ'ed because of the same IP address? Would my account be put on hold? The reason I ask is because I have a couple referrals that are not from my IP and I don't want to lose them if I let people sign up as referrals from my computer.

I understand why the IP rule is in place, but it hurts people like me, who have others who would be willing to sign up as referrals but don't have their own PCs.

Everyones account will be placed on hold. The TOS says only ONE account may sign up at one place. It doesn't mean to use different addresses, it means ONE ACCOUNT PER HOUSE. As to answer your question, none of your referrals will count because they will all be placed on hold as well. However, if people signed up using a different IP/house, then those should be alright. All others that signed up from the same house will be placed on hold.

But having my account on hold won't prevent me from getting other referrals from different IPs will it?

You may be able to refer people anyway, but there would be no use since your account is on hold. If you get all the people you need and they complete their offer successfully, you won't be able to get your gift because your account is on hold. I'd work trying to get it off hold (if they do place it) instead of trying to find more referrals.

And how would I do that? I would assume they'd think I was trying to scam them. How could I get it off hold?

I really doubt you can =\
Its one account per household, doesn't matter how many Sam, Dick and Sallies live there.

Send in a support ticket indicating which emails/referrals are from your IP and tell them not to count those, and explain to them the situation.

I sent a support ticket explaining that

"I recently moved to school and am now living with 5 other students. I signed up for the site using my home address and not the one I am currently living at. Is it acceptable for ONE of my housemates to sign up as my referral using the address I am currently at as long as he is the only one using that address?

Also, if I were to sign up for a new site under Trainn at this IP address and use my home address would it still be acceptable for a housemate to be one of my referrals if they use this address but have the same IP as I do?

Their response was "We will be able to indentity separate accounts so, yes, they may."

That applies to College locations only (we are able to tell the accounts apart).

keep in mind that boarding schools are very popular on the east coast, and thus, it's not just colleges where folks live together and might have the same external IP.

So just to be clear, if some of my referrals temporarily lived in the same house as me and signed up on their own computers within that house using their actual home addresses, this would be okay? Because that's what I took that support ticket as saying. To clarify, we do not live on campus so I believe there is a high chance that our IP will be the same.

Alan, since people on your college campus are allowed to sign-up under you, how is that not putting all of the accounts in jeopardy, since most college wireless networks have only a couple IP addresses?

I'm not going to get into that as it would compromise the verification procedure, however, we are able to tell which are unique and which aren't.

[P.S. For those concerned about privacy, it [b3f06f17221]does not[/b3f06f17221] involve installing anything on your computer.]
