[bc9a47e5864]Below is the V-Bux Press Release[/bc9a47e5864][/colorc9a47e5864]

[bc9a47e5864]Not just another freebie network.[/bc9a47e5864]

“Welcome to the new generation of freebie sites,” said Jonathan Manzi, founder and president of the newly launched V-Bux Network. The eight month project of creating V-Bux, was finally finished by Jonathan Manzi, his crew of three programmers, two designers, and two subsequent employees as it launched on Friday, December 29th. We had a chance to sit down with Manzi to discuss the new network, and why he believes it will soon be one of the top freebie networks on the web.

[color=orangec9a47e5864][bc9a47e5864]Questions about V-Bux.[/bc9a47e5864][/colorc9a47e5864]

[bc9a47e5864]Paul Johnson[/bc9a47e5864] Tell us about V-Bux’s revolutionary concept?
[bc9a47e5864]Jonathan Manzi[/bc9a47e5864] Go to any one of our five sites. Upon arriving, I think you will see what I mean. We aren’t your ordinary everyday Freebie Network. We are the real deal. As cocky as that sounds, it is exactly what we have etched out in our business plan, one that took over eight months to develop and modify. By following the (E3) model (Exceeding Expectations Everyday) we plan to revolutionize the industry by seamlessly combining top-level professionalism with an unparalleled personal, friendly environment.
Incentivised marketing, the formal name of the “freebie industry” is unlike any other market present offline or online. Simply put, it is the only industry that substantially benefits all parties involved. Not only does it benefit the advertiser, but it benefits the affiliate network, the ‘freebie’ network, and you, the end-user. No other means of advertising successfully benefits more than three parties as incentivised marketing does. At V-Bux, we want to harness this power, and use it to take the ‘freebie scene’ to the next level.

[bc9a47e5864]Paul Johnson[/bc9a47e5864] Please give us an example of your revolutionary concept in action.
[bc9a47e5864]Jonathan Manzi[/bc9a47e5864] Sure. All our employees created AIM screennames for the sole purpose of talking to customers about UNRELATED issues that don’t have anything to do with V-Bux. Whether it be about sports, the weather, TV shows, relationship tips and advice, we are all ears. Why are we doing this? We are humans too, just like you. Yes, in issues related to member support and business, we are professional and formal, but we don’t want to lose sight of mission seamlessly integrating professionalism with personality. Welcome to the new generation of freebie sites.

[bc9a47e5864]Paul Johnson[/bc9a47e5864] Tell us about the history of V-Bux?
[bc9a47e5864]Jonathan Manzi[/bc9a47e5864] Following extensive industry research and the compiling of a sound business model, V-Bux officially began formal development in February of last year under a different network name. A trial run open to two hundred members was initiated in March and lasted one month’s time. During that time, we shipped out seven prizes. Following this trial period, a new design was implemented, and the idea of V-Bux and its parent company, the Vintage Network, was solidified.

[bc9a47e5864]Paul Johnson[/bc9a47e5864] The Vintage Network, what is that?
[bc9a47e5864]Jonathan Manzi[/bc9a47e5864] The Vintage Network, located at www.vintagenetwork.com serves as V-Bux’s parent company. (That’s how V-Bux got its name. V-Bux is the form of currency that is used by the Vintage Network) Plans and development for Vintage are well underway and it will offer many exciting features and services, most of them free. At this point, however, I can’t elaborate anymore on the matter.

[bc9a47e5864]Paul Johnson[/bc9a47e5864] We see you already have an extensive proof gallery. What is this from?
[bc9a47e5864]Jonathan Manzi[/bc9a47e5864] Our proof gallery is generated from our test/trial phase that was performed in March.

[bc9a47e5864]Paul Johnson[/bc9a47e5864] How many sites is V-Bux comprised of?
[bc9a47e5864]Jonathan Manzi[/bc9a47e5864] Currently, five sites apple.v-bux.com, bose.v-bux.com, dell.v-bux.com, logitech.v-bux.com, and sony.v-bux.com. We have plans to add two more by the end of January.

[bc9a47e5864]Paul Johnson[/bc9a47e5864] What countries are the V-bux sites open to?
[bc9a47e5864]Jonathan Manzi[/bc9a47e5864] Membership is currently open to residents of the US, Canada, and the UK.

[bc9a47e5864]Paul Johnson[/bc9a47e5864] How many people work for V-Bux?
[bc9a47e5864]Jonathan Manzi[/bc9a47e5864] V-Bux currently employs one full-time and three part-time employees, in addition to myself. Our goal is to answer all inquiries within twenty-four hours, no matter what. As we grow, we will continue to add and train employees to guarantee that this goal is always met.

[bc9a47e5864]Paul Johnson[/bc9a47e5864] Are there any current promotions that we can pass along to our readers?
[bc9a47e5864]Jonathan Manzi[/bc9a47e5864] We will be adding a few in the month of January. For now, all members who submit a suggestion via a support ticket in the Member’s Area, will be generously compensated if we use the suggestions. Also, all members who report bugs, whether they be script errors or typos, will be rewarded in some way.

[bc9a47e5864]Paul Johnson[/bc9a47e5864] How often will you make approvals?
[bc9a47e5864]Jonathan Manzi[/bc9a47e5864] We plan to process approvals three times per week, and we have made arrangements with various shipping companies to ship on Fridays of every week.

[bc9a47e5864]Paul Johnson[/bc9a47e5864] What do you plan the average shipment time to be?
[bc9a47e5864]Jonathan Manzi[/bc9a47e5864] All items will be shipped via UPS, FedEx, or USPS. UPS is V-Bux’s first choice, their tracking is great and prices are low, and their average delivery time is 3 days.

[bc9a47e5864]Paul Johnson[/bc9a47e5864] Do you have any plans for new sites in the future?
[bc9a47e5864]Jonathan Manzi[/bc9a47e5864] Yes. We plan to release at least two by the end January, and another five to ten by summer.

The text in the testimonials have been taken 100% from the source. Per request, we will entertain requests the testers’ contact details. Our trial run in March is well-documented on several sites in the freebie scene, particularly Anything4Free.

Five of the pictures in the gallery are “generic” photos. The remaining are, once again, taken from the source.

In business, the acquisition of visual aid to present your product not a foreign practice; TV commercials would be a fine example. How many actors in commercials do you actually assume tried the product? Most likely none. However, they are basing their dialogue, in most cases, off of the general user perception of the product

How many websites have you been to and seen a generic product photo? Personally, I’ve observed the same person endorsing both Video Professor and Viagra.

To further prove my point A quick Google search will lead you to agencies that sell stock photos.

Your network is far from perfect, Joe. However, at V-Bux, we are business professionals, and we would never attempt to debase our competition. We also would not spend time searching the web for photos that would debase our competition when there are open support tickets, and orders to ship out (cough, cough)

Thanks for the heads up. This bug seems to be affecting around 1/4 of our users, and we are in the process of determining why it exists. We believe that it has something to do with cookies, and the different web browsers used by users. Let me point out that as long as you have the correct gift selected prior to order placement, you will be all set.

I like how the site looks. However, your iPod selection is totally outdated. Price points have dropped, there is a new iPod Shuffle, the Nanos were given a complete makeover, and the 80GB 5.5g replaced the 60GB. Both the 2g Nanos and 5.5g iPods have been out for over 3 months now.

2nd Gen Shuffle
1GB- $79 (Available in Silver)

2nd Gen Nanos
2GB- $149 (Available in Silver)
4GB- $199 (Available in Silver, Green, Pink, Blue, and Product RED)
8GB- $249 (Available in Black and Product RED)

5.5 Gen iPods
30GB- $249 (Available in Black and White)
80GB- $349 (Available in Black and White)

Just a heads up.

All of the prizes were updated this past Monday except for speakers and MP3 Players. We will be updating these products on Friday. We will also be reformatting the current offerlist to include credit amounts of each offer. However, because we use over 250 offers (over 100 of them active) this will take some time. We will strive to have this completed by the end of the day Friday.

What was intended to be a simple reminder to our members, backfired on us last night at midnight. Our email server entered an un-terminating loop due to poor configuration on our server provider’s end. As a result, members received approximately 1000 emails. Unfortunately, our email server is located in Connecticut, and, at the moment, there is nothing we can do. However, by morning, when our hosting provider receives the numerous urgent voice messages we have left, the script nightmare should come to a conclusion. We apologize for all the inconveniences rendered as a result of this act—A mere growing pain for the next internet revolution ;)

Very professional looking site, great concept too. I think I have an interesting suggestion. Would it be possible that instead of having having X referrals complete 100% worth of offers that you could have just an overall referral percentage bar? I know it sounds wierd, but keep listening.

For example, say on your current site, a gift is 6 referrals. Well, instead of having 6 referrals do 100% worth of offers, maybe just make one referral bar overall worth 600% of offers. Then you could maybe have 1 referral complete 600% or 20 referrals complete 30%, it would be completely up to the user.

Just throwing it out there.

I don't speak for the company, but me and my ref's have had a slooooow time getting the offers. All the offers we did say instant, which we haven't gotten some yet, and haven't heard anything back from the manual credit yet (2 of my 4 did credit instantly, requested Friday, says up to 72 hours so still within that timeframe). I'm not saying they don't approve it, it's just taking a while for myself and refs, I was hoping the 72 hours would be on a slow day and it would be credited soon, but apparently not. But hopefully it all works out, only time will tell. All in all, I don't know about the manual credit yet, but it seems that many offers do not credit as they are stated.

Why isn't your aim support ever on? I have a few questions

vbux jon is never on. Vbux intl is usually on but away. Still even though he's away he comes back in a second if i leave a message.

One time i asked why he was away and he said he wasn't it might've been another person on that was away because they share the same sn or something along those lines.

If the away message is "v-bux support will be right back" they never seem to repond though.

Hello,

95% of the offers on the network are crediting instantly. There is no widespread issue present.

I am usually on the VBUX INTL screen name with our two other support staff members, it is monitored 16 hours per day. Feel free to IM it, even when the status is issued as "away".

Thanks!

This seems a little wierd, but I wondered if anybody else has observed anything similar.

I've signed up on 3 of the v-bux sites, and completed the offers on all of them. In each case, the FIRST offer that I complete fails to credit in a reasonable time, even though each claimed to be "1-15 minutes" reporting period.

I've submitted missing credit reports on two of the three (the third was just yesterday), but still haven't heard anything. (Suggestion for v-bux Some sort of feedback beyond ""Your request has been received" would be nice.)

The sites were
Logitech - 1 offer - hasn't credited
Dell - 5 offers - 3 of them credited instantly, a 4th one in about a day or two, but the last one, which was the first one I did, still hasn't credited.
Apple - 4 offers - 2 credited instantly, a 3rd credited in a day. The last one, which was the first I did, still hasn't credited.

I'm having trouble on $1 trials getting credited. Two of my four offers have not credited on Sony.V-Bux. One credited in 20 minutes, the other in 2 days (said Instant). My $2.95 Psychics membership and $1 _____'s advantage offer (both "instant") have yet to credit. The same can be said for a few of my referrals, their instants aren't crediting. You might want to take back that "95%" statistic, as I find it inaccurate and very frustrating.

Oh, and what are your shipping times?

Request Is there anyway we can be provided acknowledgment/feedback on our credit requests? Right now it's just a black hole. You put it in, and you have no idea when or if anything will come out. Or even if it's been read.

All missing credit reports are forwarded to our publishers on a daily basis. Our publishers usually get back to us within 14-21 days for each offer. Once we get a response, we email our users.

The 95% rate is completely accurate. This ratio is determined from dividing the number of No Credit Reports by the total of number of offers completed in the network. We then subtract this amount from 100%, and we arrive with 96.3% (as I post this).

(Note We are experiencing some issues with instant crediting, but, after 36 hours, 98% of instants credit)

Have your referrals wait an additional 36 hours, and then submit No Credit Reports. They will be credited.

I'm with unknown uchiha. Of 10 offers done on your sites (1 on logitech, 4 on apple, and 5 on dell), 3 of them (all of them supposedly 1-15 minutes) have failed to credit. That works out to 70% success rate. And I HAVE filed missing credit reports on them, and it's been 6, 10, and 12 days, and they still haven't credited. While not a statistically significant sample, it's a big enough sample and a big enough deviation from the norm to make your claimed 95% extremely suspect in my book. And like I've complained about before, your missing credit reporting process feels like a black hole.

This is odd. Have you followed all the instructions on the Offers Page in regards to cookie clearing, firewall disabling, ect? Also, which browser are you using?

I CAN confirm that 95% are, in fact, crediting. We have noticed that the majority of users' receive credit for all their offers. For the remaining 5% of members, usually 50%+ of the offers do NOT credit. (Rarely do we see a user with only one offer NOT credited). Therefore, we can make the assumption that users experiencing the error have something in common. We believe this to be the users' failure to adhere to the instructions on the Offers Page. However, as of recent, many of these users have said that they did comply, 100%. Because of this, we are actively trying to reach a conclusion as to what an alternative common trend could be.

Like I previously said, 95% of offers are crediting.

Please. I've been doing sites for years and know when a site's crediting is and isn't 95%. I clear my cookies, make sure the pertaining cookies are there, and only then do I do the offer. I use the same settings I have used for the past few years

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger
Mozilla Firefox (All cookies enabled)
No firewall (who needs one when you have a Mac?)

i had 8 referrals for this site and they all had to complete at least 3 offers, which all credited instantly or the next day after submitting a missing credit report. 95% sounds good to me especially if this site has over 1950 members.

First, I am scrupulously following the instruction on use of cookies. And I only use IE for doing offers. (I normally use Firefox.) I do run the Firewall in Norton Internet Security, but I fail to see how that's going to block crediting unless you're accessing a black-listed site. (And I doubt Pitney Bowes, one of my failed credits, is a black-listed site.) I would be reluctant to turn the Firewall off.

I would tend to agree with your conclusion that's its something about what these users are doing. Have you done any investigation into the failed offers to find out WHY they didn't credit, and what it is that is different about the offers that failed from those that succeeded for the same user that might point to exactly what it is that is causing it. (For example, the first 3 offers I did on Dell were 3 different trial memberships offered by Trilegiant Corp. (PC SafetyPlus, Everyday Values, and NetMarket). The first one failed, but the other 2 succeeded instantly. Especially since they are all from the same source, one would expect them to behave the same. What was different about the PC SafetyPlus offer?)

Firewalls Certain firewalls, when set at the most extreme settings, are trigger-happy when blocking any code that seems remotely malicious. Because offers are tracked by over four parties (V-Bux, the second-tier publisher, the first-tier publisher, the advertiser) via special coding, many coding techniques are utilized that the firewall sees as "abnormal/unnecessary" (In normal everyday internet browsing, these codes are rarely present). Among incentivized marketing site owners, it is well-known that firewalls have an affect on offer tracking, as it is one of the first things publishers attribute to botched crediting. (Example Look at Free4Me's subforum on A4F. You will notice a "sticky" that discusses offer crediting, and makes reference to the firewall issue).

Trilegiant Corp V-Bux hosts four Trilegiant offers, and we use two affiliate networks (publishers) for them. Your settings may have sufficed for publisher XYZ, but inadequate for offering tracking on publisher ZYX.

Hope this helps )

Thanks, Jonathon, that does help explain things.

I still really doubt that Norton Firewall is interfering, but I'll try to remember to turn it off in the future when I'm doing offers. (Usually, whenever it blocks anything, it's so proud of itself that it pops up a box to inform you that it just "protected" you, and no boxes popped up. Nevertheless...)

Thanks for your replies. I do appreciate your responses and such and while my referrals and I have been experiencing major crediting problems I hope that manual credit requests do work out faster than they currently are. By the way, your support is EXTREMELY accommodating, fast and friendly.

That's about all. Network's great, crediting is eh.

Hey, vbux, it's looking like you've gotten the problem fixed where a user's selected award kept changing randomly. Is that true.

At least I haven't seen my selection change on any of my 3 sites for the last 24 hours.

If so, congratulations! And thanks. I know it was no problem, but it sure was annoying.
