Also, this promotion is a cheat. Prizebook has a huge delay set up so that they can cheat and basically send the TV's to themselves. It takes weeks after the deadline to find the results.

Gigante

from fgr

I asked Gigante to post this for me since don't have steady internet yet. So please don't bash him for my post, lol.

Ok as Gigante previously made a comment on, I will elaborate on. I just don’t see how this contest can be 100% on the up and up when it is only half ass set up.

Prizebook PROMO scam or legit.

Ok had to post my observations about this promo.

Well so far I think prizebook is doing a great job as a site as a whole. Even though I got screwed on my XboX 360.

Here are my concerns and examples.

My main concern is that prizepoints are added slowly from 7-14 days later. So on the 15th of September when the contest ends people will still have referral prizepoints waiting. So on the 15th when everyone thinks they won, they will have to wait up to 14 days to see if any more prizepoints are added. Now this to me is way to easy to be scammed on.

Does anyone really think prizebook will ship a $1000 plasma to someone with only 1 prizepoint? So lets say they get really cheap plasmas for say $1000 each. That’s $50,000 prizebook has to earn to break even in 45 days. Not to mention you have to add on probably @$10,000 for checks for cashouts, say another $10k for taxes, $5k for misc.

So $75k, that’s a lot of money. Now go look at the national stats. Does it look even remotely like they will make $75k in the in the next 30 odd days. I think not.

Now this leads me to believe they will cheat. Here is how I see thing going.

Lets say I am in Alabama which currently has nobody.
Lets say I join and refer 5 people
Say 4 cash out and are approved
1 doesn’t cash out

Now the 15th hits and I am the only person in Alabama. So I win right? Wrong I still have to wait till say the 30th to make sure someone else didn’t join and is waiting on cashouts.

So what is to keep the admins of prizebook from adding a “NEW” user and giving him 6 prizepoints. One more then I could possible have. Lets say this "NEW" person is a figment of prizebooks imagination. There is no way I can prove he or she isnt real and prizebook saves $1000. They do this 40 times and save $40k+, and they still get lots of brags from other 10 who did win.

Now lets say they ship 10 plasmas to the top ten people. Obviously they cant add someone and give them 40-50 prizepoints. Yet 10 people will spread the word on how great the site is and how they got plasmas. The other 40 will say damn I should have got more referrals. Also if you notice all the people with huge prizepoints are all current or former FIPG and A4F members. So it is obvious only true freebiests are doing this site with any true effort. So 10 freebiests posting on the brag/brag will do wonders. While some shmoe complaining he didnt win with 2 or 3 prizepoints will be ignored.

So far I have seen 2 sites offer huge promos, both had to videotape them to show they were on the up and up.

So I just have my doubts on if someone in Alaska will win with 1 point.

It is obvious prizebook planned on everyone doing earthlink. I don’t think they thought it would be yanked 3 days after promo started.

So my advice is, don’t be surprised if you don’t win, lol.

Oh well best of luck to you all, way too easy for them to scam for me to even attempt to try.

johnjimjones

10-08-2006 11:05:42

Didn't you get your 360? You are Dylan M from California?

1) They're going to be shipping twice a week so it'll be more like 3 days not 14 so the prizepoints are updated every 3.5 days. There goes 75% of your arguement.

2) While the numbers/financial don't exactly match up the admin seems to have a lot of financial backing to make this site as good as it looks and to send out what they already have.

3) I do agree that this won't help the non-freebiests believe that this is legit and that's probably the biggest flaw with the promotion.

4) They pulled Earthlink because there was an error on Earthlink's part that wouldn't allow you to add the service to their cart and check out. I know this because my friend was doing it personally and told me about the problem.

Gigante

10-08-2006 11:15:32

Prizebook is owned and operated by FOAK Inc.

http//foakinc.com/

I believe they have good financial backing. However the failure of strict promotion rules and TOS does have me worried. I noticed today for the first time I cannot see other people's profiles besides my own, my referrals or people who are in the same groups as me - that makes me worry. The thought has crossed my mind about users being created and given points closer to the deadline to either make people get more referrals or beat them out. I still have faith in Prizebook for the time being.

BTW how were you (fgr) cheated out of your 360? Mine is supposed to come sometime next week. They said they would ship it this past Monday but I supposedly never confirmed my address so it will go out this coming Monday. It's been two weeks since I was approved for my 360 and I am starting to get worried because of all this talk of scam, etc.

The reason you may or may not be able to see your referral's profile is because they set their privacy settings so noone can see them.

Sorry for the delay in posting my reply to this horrible horrible promotion. Yet with FIPG going down and my travels. lol.

Well anyways, I did want to post about this prizebook promotion. I think more people should know about this shady promotion and the risks involved.

Ok now back to convo with JJJ

[quote8844b68e01="johnjimjones"]Didn't you get your 360? You are Dylan M from California? [/quote8844b68e01]

No I never received a 360 from prizebook. They shipped one, and FED-EX dropped it off at my door. I live in an APT complex with 99 neighbors. So needless to say I never got it. Now normally I would fault FED-EX for this since the driver was to lazy to leave a note and come back later.
Yet I must find fault in prizebook since when I originally placed my order they placed me on hold. When asked why they said the fraude dept told them my refs had wrong shipping info. I asked which ones, they said all. I found this odd. Since all my trades were here, I PMed all and asked to verify all info was correct. Each and everyone of them told me there status was good and all info was correct. So I PMed the admin and told them everyone fixed all errors (I lied, not one trader had to fix anything). Well I was taken off hold and 360 shipped. However this cost me 5 days and item arrived the day after I went on my very very extended vacation. Thus my half blame on prizebook. If they wouldnt have wrongly put me on hold item would have arrived earlier.

However as you might have noticed, I’ve never once made a post about it. Shit happens….lol.url==http://=http:///url

[quote8844b68e01="johnjimjones"]1) They're going to be shipping twice a week so it'll be more like 3 days not 14 so the prizepoints are updated every 3.5 days. There goes 75% of your arguement. [/quote8844b68e01]

1) Wrong! Here is post from the prizebook forum.

[quote8844b68e01="Prizebook Admin commentTime13 hours ago"]
It takes anywhere from 3 - 14 days for approval and on average its about a 11 day wait.[/quote8844b68e01]

So I was off by 3 days while you were off by 8. Also that does not take into consideration any manual credits, and it doesn’t take away from any of my argument. What is to stop them from adding “FAKE” people the next day or day after or the day after that?

Though I cant claim to have all the answers. I think they could have done more to show it is all on the up and up. Especially when they are giving away $50k.

[quote8844b68e01="johnjimjones"]2) While the numbers/financial don't exactly match up the admin seems to have a lot of financial backing to make this site as good as it looks and to send out what they already have. [/quote8844b68e01]

2) As to financial backing that is not any of my BIZ. It still doesn’t prevent cheating.
I also found your recent copy/paste of the prizebook reply for the tickle fiasco enlightening.
Here is a quote from part of the essay they wrote.
[quote8844b68e01="prizebook"]We are indeed paying out of our own pocket to cover the costs of the Tickle tests. We aren’t doing this for everybody but we are doing the best we can to reimburse the users that were significantly affected by the Tickle reversals. We’ve paid out close to $6,500 of our own money to cover users that were affected. Not everyone had access to these funds and we obviously can’t be giving away money so we allocated it to the users that needed the most[/quote8844b68e01]

So they can't afford to eat $3-4k yet they face the possibility of eating $30-40k? Doesn't that strike you as odd?

[quote8844b68e01="johnjimjones"]3) I do agree that this won't help the non-freebiests believe that this is legit and that's probably the biggest flaw with the promotion. [/quote8844b68e01]

3) No reply, lol

[quote8844b68e01="johnjimjones"]4) They pulled Earthlink because there was an error on Earthlink's part that wouldn't allow you to add the service to their cart and check out. I know this because my friend was doing it personally and told me about the problem.[/quote8844b68e01]

4) Wrong, every publisher removed earthink as an “Incentive” based offer. This again like tickle was due to massive fraud. So even if they wanted to keep it, they couldn’t, it is gone.

Now for more recent updates.

The admin at prizebook recently posted this on his own forum

[quote8844b68e01]We would like to point out that there are MANY users with MANY prizepoints pending so we would suggest becoming active with your referrals. All but one state, Washington, will have a new leader beginning of next month when these referrals get approved.[/quote8844b68e01]

Now for people who havent joined yet some states have members with 25-30 referral points.

So how is it some unknown member is going to show up 15 days before the promotion ends and have 30 referrals?

Its a scam thats how.

As of today they have 342 prizepoints awarded. If you remove the earthlink credits then they have 117 prizepoints.

What does that mean? it means if each person cashed out an average of $50 ( guessed, i think its on the high end) then prizebook has made @$6000. They currently run all offers about %50 of net. They also made $1000 from earthlink.

So $7000 of the needed $50000 to break even with roughly 20 days to go, and 20 days having passed. So as of right now they are at the half way point.

Looking bleak isnt it. Yet you still dont think they are going to cheat?

Here is what I think is happening.

When prizebook started this promotion I bet they thought 1000's of people would flock to the site. 100's would do earthlink and they would rake in the money. Well earthlink went nonincent 3 days later, and referrals are slow if at all.

So WATCH[/size8844b68e01] on the 1st they are going to add 50 new members with massive amount of prizepoints. This will force all active and REAL members a # to shoot for. So if California gets "FAKE MAN #1" and he has 35 points I will need 33 more referrals to win.

This gives prizebook a new break point. They know exactly how many prizepoints they have to acrue to break even. So they are going to add fake people to force people to meet that number.

Did anyone really think they would send a plasma to a state with only 1 referral?

The short of the story is prizebook isnt giving away crap. For you to win you will have to refer or get more prizepoints then all the DUMMY or FAKE accounts they are going to add to the rankings.

So instead of saying win a plasma it should be get XXX amount of referrals and we will give you a plasma. Exactly like they did for the 360. This is a rigged promotion.

I am not psychic but I can guarantee the only winners will be 3 to 4 top people now. They will come here screaming the promo was great, and 46 other states will get nothing since the FAKES will win.

lol, enjoy.

PS nice to see the forum back up.

I'll be letting the results of this promotion speak for itself.

That does all add up fgr, but I'm not planning on pointing the fingers until I see those 46 states missing in the brag bag thread. And i also found it very odd how he said all states would have a new leader by the start of the month as you could tell from my post on that thread on prizebook. He actually was reffering to the prizepoint reward offers that come out today and that might possibly make them enough money to afford the plasmas, but i dont know for sure.

Look I dont want to be so so negative but this promotion is so rife for cheating.

I hope 25-30 people from these forums win. Since currently every single member on the prizepoint board is a member here or A4F, I will find it odd if they dont.

Will look bad if only 3-4 people from these forums win, when the only members they curently have are all members on these forums.

I received my xbox and was going to participate until I thought about how the set up the rules to easily allow their cheating. I won't be participating in this scam. Not worth my effort and time.

Only money...

It's gonna be hard to get away with fake people, it would be pretty obvious and crash their rep. Only thing to do is wait and see. I think pirzebook will come through since alot of states don't even have entries yet.

How would it be hard to cheat? So he adds "Mike C" in Alaska and the current leader with 1 rushes out and gets 12 more refs or does more offers. Prizebook just forced a member to get referrals he didnt need to win. If they fail they dont ship. Whos gonna say they arent real people.

Also please reread this quote the admin of prizebook posted Monday

[quote509759dc0c]We would like to point out that there are MANY users with MANY prizepoints pending so we would suggest becoming active with your referrals. All but one state, Washington, will have a new leader beginning of next month when these referrals get approved.[/quote509759dc0c]

So he clearly STATES every state except 1 will have a new leader on the first. One of those states has a guy (freebiecash4free) who Monday had 36 prizepoints, the next closest is 2prizepoints. So admin (Prizebooks) is saying in the next 6 days somone is going to acrue 35 prizepoints?

Thats a load of BS. No way every state is going to have a new leader. Well not if they are real.

I have seen so many posts about prizebook being this or that
fotune 500 company
backed by huge amounts of cash
etc etc

Yet they run the site like a nickel and dime site.

They take forever to approve accounts. This is probably due to the fact they had a dating site script converted. So I doubt they have any anti-fraud set up.

They ship payment out sporaticly at best. A site with a ton of backing wouldnt have finacial problems. If they had a million users I would say ok, but check out there own forum. lol. YGFs forum has as many members.

They only gave credit to reversed tickles to BIG members or people who could cause grief. How is it small sites can eat the loss, yet they cant. Yea big backers.

You people need to do the math. They need XXX number of prizepoints earned to make the 50k they need to ship all the plasmas. They will manipulate you the user and the stats board to force this.

Look at the leader board now. I know 90% of those people from here or a4f. Lets see how many non forum users pop up on the stats page the closer we get to the 15th.

It's going to be hard to get away with cheating because, like you said, the winners list should be made up of most, if not all, members from here and A4F. If that's not the case, then they more than likely did cheat.

And about that new leaders in September quote, he replied to my and other posters curiousity with.

[quotea672833bef]The promotion has been going on for 3 weeks, so users have had plenty of time to recruit. We're going to have prize-point only offers starting middle of this week so with that, we'll have new leaders across the board![/quotea672833bef]

So that's gotta make you wonder if his first comment was hypothetical that new users would come and do all the prizepoint only offers and take the lead.

I'm just bringing up points from the other side of the arguement. I'm not saying prziebook will not cheat, but I'm also not saying they will. I'm just going to wait and see, then we can start the accusations.
