Hi. I signed up for a TRAINN site last week (youripodtouch4free.com) and did the Disney Book Club, got credit within 10 minutes. Over the weekend I found this site and read up on the forums for tips. One thing I noticed is they said NOT to use a virtual credit card on your offer. Well, I used a Paypal generated card for the Disney Book Club. I started using these Paypal cards over the Christmas shopping period, and it's been how I've been shopping online ever since. I wasn't doing it to try and screw Disney Book Club, it's just my preferred way of shopping now. I plan to stay in the book club for a little while at least to build up my 8 month old son's book collection.
My question is, if I complete another offer, and use my regular credit card, will I still get rejected?
Thanks!

I wouldn't do another offer yet. Although some companies are starting to limit the use of virtual cards because of fraud issues, not all companies have a problem with them (and Scholastic, the company who offers the Disney Book Club is usually very flexible).
For future referance, virtual cards are generally not looked on well for freebie offers, but they are more against PrePaid gift cards. If you can use a traditional credit card, that may be a better option for you. You should still check the transactions, to be sure there are no charges that there shouldn't be - a card you can check online would be ideal.
Some of us also use a regular PayPal Debit card, which works like a credit card. You need to figure out what will work best for you.
Hope this helps,
Laurel

I try to always use my PayPal debit card. It just makes me feel more secure, because the money that I keep in there is limited. However, my back up funding source is my bank. LOL! In some cases, I have used my regular bank debit card.
But, now this is strange~it just stopped working. I can't use it for anything, anywhere. I need to call my bank. I'm guessing it's because of all the online activity must have sent up a red flag or something.
If anyone knows about that, please let me know.
Thanks,
Michelle

Often when you are first starting, the bank will notice the new activity and flag and/or put a temp hold on the account until they have confirmed that it really is you. I'd recommend calling them and letting them know.
PayPal does that sometimes as well - they called me once to ask if I had authorized the transactions, and read off the last 5 or 6 to me.
It can be inconvenient, but if someone had hacked my number, I'd be thrilled that the bank caught it, so I try not to complain.

Yeah, I've had that happen with my 1st Financial Bank USA credit card before, I had made some big purchases for my computer. I didn't even know they did that before they called me, I thought it was pretty awesome.

Yes - that is a good security item. My bank does that as well. It is a protection device if they notice alot of charges in a short period of time.

Yea my bank did this exact same thing when I signed up for a bunch of offers at once. I couldn't do internet banking or use my card. I called them and they told me that their were alot of charges and they just wanted to verify that I was actually making those charges. I was actually glad that they turned it off, because it makes me feel safe. If anyone ever steals my card and starts buying stuff I'll know)
when i called them they verified everything and turned my account back on.

Ok, thanks for all the info! I just didn't think these low $ amounts being charged would be a big deal. It would have been nice if they had notified me though. It's a good thing, just a bit of an inconvienence.
Thanks,
Michelle
