Hey guys,
I have just discovered this... (what do you call it? Does it have a name?) sport of getting (more or less) free stuff.
I have been lurking the forums for awhile and have since become more confused. Can anyone help me out?
I REALLY want an Apple Macbook Pro, and then eventually to be able to get ipods, TVs, and cash (or just higher up on the chain). I have a credit card but do not want to pay people to use my link. I was wondering if anyone could explain this process, and tell me the best, most painless way to get a Macbook?
Thanks, and sorry for the noob question; you probably get a million like it.

Hey, welcome to the forum. Make a post in the Trading forum when you're ready to dive in head first and there will be a lot of people willing to help you. Whatever you are looking to get for free, there is most likely one site (if not several sites) that are at your disposal for each and every item.
Make sure to use the Trade module and trade with an experienced trader for your first few trades, so you can insure that it is done correctly and so you can build your TR.
Again, welcome. )

Welcome to the Forum.
If I am understanding you correctly, you do not wish to pay for referrals, so, unless you have lots of friends and family that will do them for free, your only option will be to use a points based site, where you will need to do x## of offers to get enough points for your prize. Be warned, however, that getting prizes this way will limit you in the number of prizes you will ultimately get, because there are only a limited ## of offers that can be done, and if it takes you, for example, 12 offers for one prize, you will soon run out of offers you can do, since they can only be done once each.
My advice would be to look around some, then do one or two referrals for other traders for $$ (so as to make something while getting sites to do), then do some green for green trading.
Hope this helps some.

Like Laurel said, really the only way to avoid paying people to be a referral for you is to either do DIY sites (see the DIY forum for more info) or just trade sites - in other words, you become someone else's referral and in return, they become a referral for you.
BUT, keep in mind, it's still going to cost you money to do offers. So it's really kind of a toss-up that comes down to how much you're willing to spend in the end. Sometimes it's cheaper to do offers, but sometimes it's cheaper to just pay for a referral.
