Me and my friends were playing HALO 3, when one of my friends decided to move the system from horizontal to vertical. When, we all heard the system scratch the CD, we had to stop the system to stop the scratching. It made a nice ring around the middle of the CD

[bffa96517d0]I'm I able to return the game back to Best Buy? I still have the reciept and I bought it last Tuesday. [/bffa96517d0][/colorffa96517d0]

That happened to my NFS Carbon, toys r us took it back fine. Shouldn't be a problem if they ask how it got scratched just say it came like that.

yeah my friends 360 scratched any game he threw in it, the store would replace the game for him but he had to get his system fixed too

what if that excuse don't work. If i said that the xbox 360 itself scratched it, would that work? even if i say that i didn't move it?

That sucks that the game scratched.

I never understood WHY Microsoft made the system stand up like that. When I got my system, i put it horizontal and have not changed it ever since. I think it looks much better laying down anyways.

It'll overheat easier that way. There are 4 vents, 1 on each of the 4 sides, the biggest being on the sides. If they're both up it definatley improves the temperature, much better than having only 1/2 the vents plus those tiny ones that barely do anything.

Not really because if you look at it, the bottom of the 360 does not touch touch the base that it is sitting on because it is curved. Because it is curved, it gives a little bit of flow for the 360. I have had mine for over a year now and have always had it on its side and never had a problem with it overheating. I have even left if on lonnnggg during the nights because i have fell asleep watching a movie or something.

I think it is worth a shot. I mean its not like they cant afford it or anything. Just ask to speak to the manager or something and tell him/her that you are very unsatisfied and it is bullshit and you want a refund.

haha, maybe not in those words. but i will try

I'm going to continue to play the halo 3 even though it's scratched. Should i though? i don't want to damage the insides of the 360

If you have a receipt they will exchange it. Halo had problems with coming scratched.

My xbox 360 broke my copy of mlb 2k7...I decided to set the unit vertical and hadn't had any trouble except that every time I exited from the game back to the dashboard I could hear the disc bouncing around as it was stopping and eventually the center cracked and now the game is useless. This problem doesn't occur when the unit is horizontal (perhaps gravity is helping) so I set it horizontal again, but it was too little too late.... cry
The game was a freebie, but it still sucks...

I got the exchange done NO SWEAT. I told them that i was playing the game and the 360 started to make noice, and when i took the game out, it was scratched. I even told them it could be defective because the game is from the first batch. you should have seen the Customer Service Representative, he believed and he even agreed with me.

That sucks, but it's not the gravity or anything, it's just when you turn the 360 while the game is spinning it'll get scratched for some reason, it just hits the spindle thing or whatever is in there.

I didn't move the xbox while the disc was spinning or while a disc was even in the drive. The damage caused to my disc was caused just from me exiting out of the game. Perhaps I just had a bad copy of the game and over time the damage just became worse.

It's no big deal, I just enjoyed playing it and hate having to get another copy. Aside from this incident, I love the system. D

[b58210d9eeb]Just to let you guys know, I got the "Ring of Death" on my XBOX 360, what the fuck!
[/b58210d9eeb]

Anywayz, i contacted Microsoft, and they said that everybody has an unlimited warrenty on the 360 if you get the ring of death. so, they sent an prepaid box for me to send it back. I got it today. Let's see how long this process works. Oh, the funny part is, i went to put it in the UPS drop box, and the mail truck was there to pick up the boxes. The mailman told me he gets like 5 defective 360's everyday haha.

That wasn't too bad.
I'm gonna get rid of my Xbox 360.
It has the red rings, and I have a two year warranty for it from BestBuy.
What I'm gonna do is just send it in, get the gift card for $400+Tax, and then sell it.
I don't play much anyway...So I'll get a new one when I feel like I need it. Only downside to that is that I just renewed my Live subscription a month ago.

mpbollywoodking

28-10-2007 11:06:49

i got my XBOX 360 from the repair center, i got my HDTV installed today.

I played the Transformers HD-DVD on the 360 HD Player, and it looked AWESOME

I tried to play my Batman Begins DVD on the Xbox 360, and i got an error message saying the "region code" on the DVD is not on the 360, something to that effect.

What is up with that?
