A simple guide to greens (helpful info)

Hi everyone! I put this together in hopes of helping people get greens a bit easier. Everyones computer is a bit different, but this is what works for me. Hope it helps anyone starting out or having trouble greening.




A Guide to Getting Your Offers to GREEN

1. Click on link.

2. Sign up under your referral.

3. Check out all the offers you are interested in, including the TOS or “terms of service.”

4. Make note of which offer or offers you want to complete.

5. Clear your cookies and files.

6. Check your files by clicking on settings and make sure that all cookies are gone.

7. If not, manually delete them working from the bottom up to the top.

8. Close out the boxes.

9. Allow the new cookies time to load, by watching the lower left of your computer it may count down and then say done. Or be instant.

10. You can recheck the files to make certain that nothing but cookies from the site you are working are in there. If others appear, you may have other tabs open such as Yahoo IM or you e-mail. These must be closed out. The only open tabs should be the FIPG trading forum, and the site your on. Close and start over.

11. Complete your offer thoroughly and slowly making sure that all information is correct. Prior to clicking next on each page, make sure that the page is completely loaded.

12. Stay on the final landing page which thanks you for your order or says something to that effect for a bit to let it settle. 5 minutes should be fine.

13. Repeat these steps if completing another offer.

If you do not know how to clear you cookies or files…..click on tools, click on internet options, click delete cookies…do not check the box that that asks if you want to delete internet files, click ok, click on delete files, click ok. Then you can view your files in the same box, by clicking on settings, and view files. Close the boxes and recheck your files to make sure that only cookies from the site you are working are there. This may seem complicated, but after you have done this a few times, it will become second nature. Never go back a page or click submit more than once. When in the process of completing an offer, if you feel you have made a mistake, and have not entered your payment info and submitted it, simply close it all out and start again. i would add something to the beginning
"ask your trader to send you a list of offers or a link to a list of offers so that you can pick your offer out before you sign up for the site. signing up for a site and agreeing to a trade and then finding out there are no offers you can do can be disappointing"

Great advice Margot. The only thing that I would add is this -

If the offer does not green instantly (as some don't, even if they say they do), take a break, do something else for a little while, etc, etc, before clearing your cookies and working on the next offer. That way if there is a delay, and then the site searches for your cookie, you haven't deleted it. Don't know if it matters or not, but it works for me.

I also love to get a list or link to a list. It truly helps to see if there are offers you can do or not. Only down fall is that you can't check the TOS on any links that I've gotten. There may be sites that will show them, but I don't know of any personally.

And yes, it is a good idea to have some patience with "instant" offer credits. Many take there time to show up. On the other hand I had an offer that was supposed to take 3 days to credit and it credited instantly...go figure...lol Certainly didn't hurt my feelings!

Hello everyone-

I think it would be wise to also suggest (as has been suggested in all the tutorials on all the trade forums, as well as on some of the freebie sites themselves) that all firewalls, antivirus & anti-spyware programs, and pop-up blocker's are disabled before doing offers. These programs could interfere with crediting, specifically the transfer of tracking data (from the cookies) that the advertisers and freebie sites use to credit offers.

Also, the browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox are recommended) should be set to allow all cookies (this is set in Privacy Settings in IE). These "safety" measures are best implemented between steps 4 and 5 in the guide Margot posted at the beginning of this topic. It's a good idea to restart the browser after implementing the safety measures I've mentioned.

I sure don't want to overwhelm newbies, but I think it's important that everyone has all the info necessary to better ensure crediting of offers.

Margot, if you think it's a good idea, I would suggest that you post a link to the "A possible reason you're not getting credits" topic in this topic.
