I was reading a thread about someone being denied a gift b/c of multiple IP's b/c of being a SBC DSL Customer? I've never heard this mentioned before. I know they say you can't use AOL but they also say if you don't know what a proxy server is don't worry about it. They were accusing of multiple IP's but I know a lot of people who restart their pc's once a day, sometimes even their modems if they have connection problems. We had to do it for a month a long time ago, I don't think this proves scamming in anyway. Just a crappy connection.

Is being a SBC DSL customer going to cause people problems b/c there have got to be plenty on here? If a site owner sees this and can respond, that would be great. Thanks.

Shouldn't be. My brother has the same thing and has gotten greens for me with no problems.

I did Train's 3604free with my SBC DSL and had no problem. I think they are open to it. I don't know if Train does it, but OC (giftmonkey) didn't care about IP addresses, they knew I let my buddy use my laptop to do offers since his was destroyed in a flood, long story and worked out, but they told me it was the exact same physical computer....

I don't recall SBC being a problem itself. AOL, Earthlink, and DirectWay are the only ISP's I remember causing problems for some customers, due to their proxy architecture that is out of the customer's control. In most cases things were resolved by opening tickets or sending photocopied ID to prove identity.

What I do recall is a bunch of SBC IP ranges being on proxy blacklists that some startup freebie sites used to check for proxies. Hopefully they don't use those anymore, I know I ranted & raved enough to some site owners about how unreliable any such blacklist was. You can't put dynamic IP's on a blacklist, plain & simple. There are automated tests you can do to determine proxy status that are far more reliable (but not 100% either).

It's what I use and never have had even a slight suspicion or anything, or going on hold for that matter D

Thanks, well I'm not a scammer and I'm honestly doing the sites, so I hope that as long as you keep your nose clean, you should be fine. I may put in a support ticket to each site I do, just to cover my butt though. Glad to hear Patrick hasn't had any problems.
