What does it mean when there are red flashing ipod's under someones name saying don't trust me and don't trade with me? Did that person do something wrong?

yes. It means exactly what it says. Do not trade with that person until he/she resolves any outstanding trades and that comment is removed from under their name. This usually means that they went red or owe someone money.
