A new 350Z? Those are fast. Have you looked into a WRX, Dupe? I like the RSX's too.

WRX is slow if anything go with a STI, and the 350Z i bought is fast as fuk, now i gotta save up for the twin turbo kit to put on it o

He wants a car he can fix up under 20K. I would have suggested a STI but of course they are over 20k and WRX can be fast if you fix them up. roll

Toyota Corolla is a very reliable car for under $20,000. You can also get an Honda Civic. Try to stick with foreign made cars.

Sure, call it a neon.... but it is fast

240hp, 1/4 is about 12-13s

can get it up to almost 300hp with minor mods

The SRT's arnt bad cars.

As for the Acura RSX, I believe that they do have 6-cylinder models, 6 speed and fully loaded. You could get a nice used one for around 20k, like an 02 model if youre looking to buy that old. Honda made cars are amazing, dont buy anyhting else.

The new SI is pretty badass too but a little out of your price range.

I would qualify that statement further by suggesting you stick to [i93450bb044]Japanese[/i93450bb044] made cars, particularly Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura, and Subaru. Nissan isn't what it used to be IMO, so I don't typically recommend them. Mazda is another Japanese brand but it's really just a Ford, as Ford owns a controlling interest and their parts have been interchangeable for years. European brands, typically your luxury brands like Mercedes, BMW, Volvo, Saab, Jaguar, etc. have all tanked in quality in recent years -- most typically rate below even American brands in quality now, based upon the defect ratios I've seen come out of JD Power, Consumer Reports, etc. In fact American quality, particular with some GM models, has been on the rise in recent years. If were to buy American today, it would probably be GM. I bought my last Ford several years ago and swore off them forever (of course, I swore off GM back in the 80's too, so never say never...)

Some Korean-made models are coming along nicely in quality, but the consistency isn't there across all models in a brand. For example. some Hyundai models rate very well, while others suck. However if you do find a good model, the price will be much better than for a comparable Japanese model.

I was able to get a 2004 used Honda Accord for under $20,000. Less than 40k miles on it when I got it, leather interior, sunroof, 6 disc changer, V6, very nice car.
