So I've done a couple trades now...and so far in two of them the terms have been that I would get paid as soon as I went green. But then both of them have changed their minds AFTER I did the offers and said that they would have to pay on approval since I was new. But if they were going to have to pay on approval, why would they tell me I would get paid on green? or does getting paid on green not actually mean anything?

What were the terms in the trade module? If they agreed to pay you on green, then they have to abide by that. If you agreed to be paid on approval, then you have to wait.

This is correct. They can't change their minds after the terms have the trade have been agreed upon.
