Is pm-ing randomn people who are online with offers to do sites for you considered spam, or is it tolerated?

its just that someone sent me a pm and he said "i saw that you were online..." so i sent him a sarcastic roll reply saying that he could do offers for me and that i thought that was spam and he said that i didn't have to be such a d#@k about it, so i wasn't sure if it was my bad or not.

I dont really want to get him banned really...just wanted to make sure i was right..

If they PM you without invitation, ie if you don't have a trade post or haven't shown interest in doing offers, then it is spam. But if you have any trade posts, saying you are looking to do offers or that you have sites you want to complete, then it would not be spam.

Well, I am online a lot, because I do a lot of schoolwork on my computer ... and no, I'm not trying to be a mod...why, did they say something about it? Lol...but no, I am just on a lot, and so I can answer questions that people have at a pretty fast rate.

yeah thats cool. I what school do you go to. and also do you try to get anybody in your dorm to sign up. I thought about putting out flyers or something like that but i wasn't sure about the isp but that discussion has already took place, huh. Well we shall see...

I go to Seattle U ... but haven't tried getting anyone to sign up yet. I might talk to the people who work at IT (they won't hire me, although I've had a higher success rate for fixing student computers than they have shrug) about seeing if I can keep my IP while I'm here.
