site referral box issue

I used a link given to me by a requestor. I copied and pasted it into the browser and it got me to the right site. After logging into the site, I noticed that there is a different link showing as the referral. Before starting I deleted all my cookies. Can I just cut and paste the right link in the referral box on the site or is my referral going to get screwed up? The site is games.giftsinn.net.

Are you sure the link that's showing isn't your link for getting your referrals. I'm not familiar with the site you're talking about, but I know that the sites I've done, after I've signed up, the link that displays on the account page is my link to sign others up.
