You can have a web site in your signature. But It CANNOT include a referal link.
You can have something like http//www.mywebsitehere.com
but you can't have http//www.mywebsitehere.com/?referral=blahblah
That is grounds for deletion of thread or banning based on mods decision.
Edit Woah, that is a real website. I'm gonna change that

Also, if the website you link to happens to contain your personal ref links, such as a personal blog or something, that is also grounds for mod intervention.

Good call, I didn't think of that.
I like your Karma idea. I help people out a lot and dont' get a lot of credit for it sometimes because many people dont' know what karma is. Do you care if I steal your idea too?

Thanks Everyone! I do have personal info posted there and of course am in business to provide travel opportunities. Is that the nature of a referral I am being warned against? Thanks again

I dont' believe so. But maybe another member could confirm this 100%.
I think it's mainly warning against promoting your own referral link for a site you need greens on.
For Example if you are working on a 2dollardeal site, you cannot post your referral link that you would give to a ref anywhere on here except in a PM or the Trade Module.

i highly doubt this is true and have no idea why it would be the case

I forget who is was but they were temp banned for posting a facebook group for FIGP users that was loaded with ref links
edit They were warned I think.
[quote84ca5afef2="CollidgeGraduit"]Linking to a site full of referral links isn't allowed either. Thanks everyone for not quoting the link in their replies, much appreciated.[/quote84ca5afef2]

Stueybaby already got to this and cited the most recent example, but yes, linking to a site filled with referral links would result in a warning or temp-ban.
But if you were confused about my wording, I was not saying linking to a personal blog is grounds for a ban. I was saying that linking to a personal site, like a business site or a blog, would not be acceptable if it contained ref links on it.
Hope everything has been cleared up )

Don't know of many biz sites that DON'T have a ref link of some kind on it.
But I guess I can understand why FiPG wouldn't want people slamming all their referral inks from wherever on this forum. wink

I wasnt a member when this was discussed, but the Admin(which I agree with) feels that if everyone puts links in their sigs referring to a freebie site, it would just lead nowhere because nobody is going to signup for free. Plus it gets annoying to see ipods4free.com/?r=00000000 a million times in everyones signature.
