Why do some freebie websites say that you cannot sign up from a college campus? Same IP address or something?

I presume its due to the fact that everybody on campus would be signing up under the same IP Address. The only one who would get credit for their sign ups would be the person who created their account first.

not true. Many/Most College campuses you are assigned a static IP address. It is almost a must to track students and keep illegal downloading to a minimum.

Now there maybe a problem with recycled IP addresses, but that chances of that are very low, so most people will get credit.

Actually, the first person wouldn't get credit either, because the multiple sign ups would flag his account also.

Be sure to check that the static IP addresses are not changed every semester or year, as some colleges do. If so, ask specifically if you can have the same one for the entire time you are there.
