They just write that so their thread can go to the top. Like "Bump it up"

When you post in an existing thread, it's "bumped" to the top of the list of topics. So whether or not someone actually writes the word "bump" in a post, bumping means pushing a thread to the top of the list by posting.
In the Trading Post, you can only bump your own thread once per 24 hours.
