My cousin wants to get one since they seen it at Best Buy, I kinda told them I could probably find it cheaper online and now I'm stuck lol.
So anyone know?
I've looked on Amazon and a couple other places, they had an LG for a little under $5700.

The Sony SXRD, without a doubt. And I'm not saying that because I have one, I have one because it's a fact. ;)
The latest model line has 2 60" models, the A series (A2000 or something like that) and the XBR Grand Wega. Go with the latter, as it has an additional HDMI input and an upgraded display engine.

Those are rear projection, they are looking for flat ones. Those are very nice though and not a bad price.

Yes, they're RP, but you won't find a better picture on anything, even plasma. And at 60", your only option for flat panel IS a plasma -- at a huge price premium.
Unless hanging on the wall is a non-negotiable requirement, I'd recommend an SXRD over anything else. Any day of the week. A 60" plasma is not worth the money IMO, especially with the image quality compared to an SXRD. The only reason I'd consider plasma is liifli I had to hang it on a wall.
FYI, a 60" SXRD is only about 16-18" deep, so it's not like it fills the room.

I completely understand that, it's not for me though and they won't understand that the RP would look the same and be a great price.
They're just hung on the plasma or lcd thing and want to hang it.
Any ideas? Also I hope I'm not coming off as unappreciative, I really am thankful for the help.

No problem, I understand.
There are no 60" LCD panels that I know of, and if there were I imagine they'd look like crap. Large-screen LCD's are very poor quality IMO, I wouldn't have one bigger than 37" personally. Plasma is your only real option at that price range, but unfortunately there isn't a lot to choose from at that size, and almost none are 1080p. Panasonic just announced a 65" 1080p plasma, but it's a commercial panel, no tuner or speakers (not a problem if you have a cable/sat box and 5.1 setup).
If you're satisified with 1080i, I'd probably recommend a Panasonic, Samsung, or Pioneer in a 60" plasma.

I read that. It doesn't have a lot of useful information though.
