I get this error every once and a while. Is there something up with the site, or is this happen regularly

Happens more and more often for me too.

there was a thread about this somewhere. I think the problem was because there were too many people connected to the site. When it happens to me I just click refresh and it works.

Yes, it's due to a limit to the number of simultaneous database connections we're allowed on this new host. When too many people are hitting the forum at the exact same moment, it will happen. Just give it a moment and try again.

It's happening more recently because of the influx of members from A4F.

Hopefully, it should get better now. Matt from Apis just let me know that we can increase the connection limit at no cost. We even have control over it, so I just doubled the limit, let's see how that works. If you continue to see it with any frequency, let me know and I'll bump it a bit more.

It's going to happen ocassionally, but it should be much less frequent now. I first increased to 20 and then 30, I don't want to keep pushing it because this is a shared box -- if we consume too much of the DB resources it can affect the other customers on the box, and get us in trouble (or billed). We'll just live with it for now and monitor the situation.
