I do not have a credit card, but do have some money on my paypal account. I was wondering if i could use my paypal account to pay for some offers instead of using a credit card. Also, is there a place to buy a virtual card using paypal? Thanks

To use your Paypal funds to complete offers (or to use for anything other than sending to someone else), you'll need the Paypal Debit Card. It's free and takes about a couple of weeks from when you apply to when you receive it in the mail.
Also, you can only use your Paypal account to buy virtual Visa's online if you (again) have the Paypal Debit Card.

Yeah, the Virtual Debit Card is different than the physical debit card.
The virtual card does not have the CCV code so it won't work for some places, although some folks report success using 000 or 123 as a code.
The physical card is the way to go, but you have to be verified, upgrade to the money market account, and I think have a minimum number of verified transactions. But I could be wrong on that, as I've had mine for a couple or so years now and don't remember the details. The 1.5% cash back (now 1%, but apparently I'm grandfathered in at 1.5%) and monthly dividends from the MM fund are nice.

I didn't have to upgrade to the Money Market account, just a Premier account.

Really? Maybe they changed it, i'm pretty certain that was a requirement back then. It's not big deal though, and you earn great interest on your balance.

Yea mines premier and i've had the debit card forever. Meh not a fan of the Money market, not FDIC Insured, and i'd rather invest the money then let it sit for a less then 4% interest gain.

5.02%, actually. P
Most MMF's aren't FDIC insured anyway, since it's considered an investment account rather than a depost account. That's why the return is higher than deposit accounts.
I'm not too worried about it, I don't keep a lot of money in there, and it's been a long long time (think, stock market crash or savings & loan collapse) since I've heard of a MMF tanking. In the grand scheme of things, MMF's are one of the best savings vehicles that allow ready access to your money -- it's basically a high return checking account, and unlike most bank MMF's, PayPal doesn't charge you for withdrawals.
In the meantime, I'm earning free money. )

Yea, Most MMF's in banks, Require a large deposit. Thats the good part of paypal, It lets you earn interest no matter the size of your balance. Banks usually require a large minimum balance to qualify for it.

No, you can't just enter your PayPal email address and use that as a payment service. (

To use the vdebit you need a bank accnt added.
And to get the debit card you need a bank account AND a credit card added.
(I added a prepaid simon though ))

You could also PM stackmjwiz. He's selling simon giftcards for a small fee. He probably accepts PayPal.
