Hey, I've been looking in to getting a prepaid credit card. I was just wondering what you guys use? I went to CVS today and what I saw were either a Mastercard/Visa gift card with amounts of $25/$50/$100 or some credit cards by GreenDot(https//www.greendotonline.com/contents/login.aspx) where you can load a prepaid amount, and then have to pay monthly fees and what not, minimum amount is $20.

Are there any where you can just get like $5 on a card or anything? Where would you find them? Or do you all just use the $25 cards or something?

Just go to a bank, they can give you them there.

I use the GreenDot Mastercard which really isn't too bad at all. The only con of using the GreenDot Mastercard is that you have to have your SSN to validate it but that's just so nobody tries to steal your identity which is good in the end. The pros of the GreenDot card is that it's accepted at all sites, and it has an online balance that you can check whenever you want.

I use Visa Simon's cards. They don't require any information (read you can be under 18) and can be bought at any major shopping location (mostly malls). $20 minimum, $2 activation fee, but you can use the rest anywhere they accept Visa.

^^
That one has a $10 loading fee though... I mean, if its gonna cost $10 + $20 minimum, I'd rather just get one of those $25 Mastercard giftcards or w/e.

There is no loading fee. I think he meant the initial purchase was $9.95 because it is. \

well IMO thats not bad compared to the first one since you have to pay monthly fees. I guess if your gonna have it for a long time, use the second one,but if your gonna use it a few times, buy the first one.

If they are non-reloadable...You will have to get a high ammount to do your offers or continuously have to go out to buy new cards, im waiting for my paypal debit card (15 more days till applicable status!)
Then I'll be high rollin' P.

When you get that Debit Card, be sure to enroll in 1% Cashback with every purchase. You have to have a business though..
