Ok, so today I get a notice from a collection agency for 1800 Patches.com for $79.99 for the date 10/5/05.

I looked through my offer records and the nearest times I have for anything from 1800 Patches (this is AbSlim and Red Blossom, right?) is AbSlim on August 29, 2005, which was cancelled. I also signed up for Red Blossom, on August 31, 2005, which was also cancelled.

Those are the only things I can think of that 1800 Patches offers.

If anyone has any tips, because I'm not going to fucking pay them for shit I didn't get/shit I cancelled. There's a number/extension to call some Dan guy, I'll be giving him a call tomorrow.

Tell the collection agency that if they don't stop harrassing you, you will be filing charges....worked for me with BMG Music....god I hate BMG.

I called the collection agency and he said to send in a letter of dispute back to them. He also said he doesn't know why I'm getting billed for it if I cancelled AND returned it. He also said my credit card was denied, which is why they put it into collection, which doesn't make any sense, because I used my REAL Visa credit card.

I'm going to send that letter of dispute in. Any ideas with what all I should put in it?

Include the fact that you will file charges and sue if you continue to harassed.

if u use a simon giftcard, and it gets declined, do u still have to deal w/ collection agency and all that business. Cuz if there is no money on the card, what can they do. From a hypothetical standpoint

well i would think that if you had agreed that they could charge u $1 and they try and cant...that is fraud. if u properly cancel and they try to charge you even though u cancelled and they cant...that is their problem

That is why you use a PREPAID credit card for offers that have trials and shady services.

That is what you call FRAUD.

You might have to pick up a dictionary and re-read the definition of the word, "Fraud." It's called protecting yourself from unwanted debt. You load the required amount of money on the card and then do the offer. In no way is that fraud.

You aren't intending to keep the offer and you know their attempted charges will get denied.

How isn't that fraud?

Lol, well if you aren't intending to keep the offer, the offer shouldn't be done at all. And if you complete the offer, and want to keep it, then there shouldn't be a complaint about charges. ;-)

You are trying the offer out to see if you want it.

Oh you got a point, lol. I don't know, you can do whichever. But the prepaid is a little safer for online if you're not sure about a certain online site or something. But yeah, some people do use it for frauding, so I don't blame you for calling it fraud.

They will send collections agency after you even if you are using prepaid.

well heres my two cent

You wont get a call from a collection agency as long as they didnt send you any products. (Forgetting to cance trial offers?)

You will get sent if you dont return your products/payment gets denied for a product they shipped to you.

i believe they can screw up your credit really bad, but i also think if you push hard enough they usually back off, especially if you have hard evidence on your defense.

I have the date I signed up, but not the date I cancelled, I just wrote cancelled in the Excel spreadsheet.

However, it NEVER tried to charge my Visa (which has more than enough of a limit), so what should I say? I still need to write a letter disputing the charge.

Could it have been any of they're other offers?
