Hey is that avy from Kill Bill (I just watched it yesterday from Netflix )) Anyways...I did the same thing and did a CC offer for a Freepay site. It was a Citi Platinum for college students. Very good customer service and online banking. You can even choose to only get your CC bills online. The requirements for a CC offer are that when you receive it in the mail, you have to activate it, then purchase something with it. I think I got credit pretty quickly after I did that. Just don't buy something you can't afford wink

citibank is a great company. I have used them for almost 10 years. look for these things in a credit card
NO yearly fee
APR needs to be low, unless you pay it off every month
fraud protection
price protection (also called best value guarantee)
rewards program with at least
1% back on all purchases
5% on groceries/gas
some links for ya

for when you sign up
there are ALWAYS gift cards out there for when you sign up. I am not sure about the college kids one. I had that while I was an undergrad then upgraded to a drivers edge and then I realized the rewards program stunk. Now I have a citibank diamond rewards preferred. It is great, I may swap to an AMEX soon, if I can get one without a yearly fee.
pm me with questions

one thing I forgot, frequent flier miles become less and less valuable each year. those cards are NOT worth it

Yes you can buy a prepaid card if you're under eighteen. Another way to go is a Debit card by opening up a College Checking account.
