I tried to sign up for the AOL trial through get6friends last night, but after I got done with the last page, it automatically took me to a page that said "Error registration could not be completed." I tried it a few times last night, and then again today, and got the same message. Of course, after I close the Error page, I get a pop-up to sign up for a 2-month trial.

Is AOL trying to scam people out of signing up thru 3rd-party sites, or is there a server problem? Anyone else have this problem?

Did you get a confirmation e-mail? Was your card charged? Can you log in to their service?

No to all the above. It won't let me register at all.

Edit Oh shit...my CC did get a temp charge of $1.00...4 times. No confirmation email though, and I can't sign in...this is fucked up. I guess I'll call them tomorrow. Dammit, I hate dealing with people on the phone.

Usually the $1 temp charges are just pending and you get a refund in 10 days...

YEah that's true, but it still means they charged him for a service he can't use, which means if he doesn't do something about it, then when the trial expires, he will be charged for it (maybe 4 times).

It's also a bitch to cancel because the rep's sit there and trys to talk you in to staying with aol, then even after you cancel,if you sign in to aol with that same screen name then they will begin to charge you.
