Can I offer to give people stuff in exchange for signing up via my referral link? Specifically, I'd like to offer baseball cards on ebay. It's sort of complicated, but it would be a 'real' ebay auction (I have multiple identical items - so it's no big deal if someone wins the bid) with a caveat that I'll send the items to them for FREE if they sign up via my link, yada yada yada...

Is it legal? Thanks in advance.

I think it would be fine as long as you don't put your ref link in the listing and don't put FREE IPOD or FREE PSP in the title of the listing. As long as you put in that payment is a ref then I think it should be fine (might violate Paypal's policies in some way as being the preferred method of payment ) )

One of ebay's policies is that you cannot give info on how to get items for free or redirect to another site to get the items.

Hehe, but try it anyway. The worst that could happen is that your listing will be cancelled and they'll tell you which policy you violated. But, chances are nobody will care as long as you don't go out of your way to keyword spam.

ebay is illegal. don't even sign up there, they've violated so many stinking laws.

its against the TOS of eBay to list on there. if you feel you MUST, then go ahead, but you won't get anything. If you've never done it before you'll just get a warning.
