Ok so about 2-3 weeks ago I sign up for the Pure Health Hoodia offer on one of the sites I was completing for someone. It said there was a $4.97 shipping fee and if you cancel within 10 days you will not be charged anymore. I make sure I cancel within the 10 days and they tell me that everything is cool and im unsubscribed and will not be billed any further. Today I am viewing my CC statement and see a charge of $79.41 from an N and N Labs. I'm thinking that I messed up and forgot to cancel something and screwed myself outta a lot of money. I do some research to see what N and N Labs was and happen to stumble upon this thread here
http//www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=5f379f5718d9037c31bf0226656e794f&t=1501093

So, basically what it looks like to me is that not only me, but numerous other people are getting scammed out of $80 or more from this company. I checked even further and came across 3 other complaint forums about this same company!!! Just a heads up out there to anyone. DON'T DO THE PURE HEALTH HOODIA OFFER, THERE IS A CHANCE YOU WILL GET SCAMMED!

they did the same thing to me, I've had to get 2 or 3 new credit cards thanks to them because somehow they keep getting ahold of my new credit card number and charge $80 to it, the bad thing is that they won't even answer the phone, EVER. one time, I called them when they were still open and they said they were closed, I've been trying to get them to quit charging my card since February, and I know I canceled before the trial was over, and I never got anything in the mail from them, well, good luck to you, I don't know what to do about them anymore

Yeah, I know...its complete BS how they can do something like this and actually get away with it...it's all right though because if they dont reverse these charges and/or charge me again they will have charges pressed on them, I know several other people have already filed police reports as well.

yeah the same shit happened with my brother

he ordered it, and forgot to cancel it, and they charged him $80.

but i called them up myself for him (am short tempered) and was bitching at them about it, so they told me to send it back and they would refund the money

so i shipped it with a delivery confirmation on it and a nasty letter inside

The day it arrived, i called them up and told them that Fliliking refund better be in my bank account

and 2 days later, it was lol

and another part, I NEVER RECEIVED CREDIT FOR DOING THE HOODIE OFFER [b67e9a57e83]LOL[/b67e9a57e83]

YOU LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES

jeremiah, ask them if you send it back if they will refund your money

It's his own fault if he forgot to cancel and should have rightfully paid the $80.

targetman39

05-07-2007 08:57:42

who should have paid the $80? my brother or jeremiah?

05-07-2007 09:10:39

@target I think that he was talking about your brother (since you even said he didn't take care of it).

But also ... why would you have gotten credit if he did the offer?

[quote55f854fc9b="targetman39"]who should have paid the $80? my brother or jeremiah?[/quote55f854fc9b]

Your brother. He forgot to cancel and by the terms he is legally required to pay.

roll

Chill out, virtually every offer has these requirements; "if you do not cancel, your card will be charged $xx.xx for __ days service until you do cancel" blah blah blah.

The fact that it's Pure Health Hoodia and a shady offer doesn't absolve your brother of paying them because he forgot to cancel within the trial period.

Yes I have, and I paid for it. No reason to expect otherwise, and getting all indignant about it when you implicitly agreed to the terms by completing the offer just makes you look foolish, not them.

Jeremiah1218

05-07-2007 14:38:20

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that part as well...never got credit for the offer either. But I did call today to get this straightened out and heres what they told me "Oohhh it looks like you cancelled and they put it in the notes but musta just forgot to take it out of the system." Yeah like I believe that...not only that but they gave me the cancellation number of 41,000. Reading through the complaint forum I posted above, theres like 3 other people who have also gotten the cancellation number of 41,000. Anywho, they said the money would be back in my bank account in 7 days which is way longer than I anticipated but oh well, I hope they are being truthful this time and I get my money back. But yeah Targetman, I did not forget to cancel it so I have nothing to send back, they just took it upon themselves to conveniently "forget" to process my cancellation in hopes of stealing $80 from me...at least thats what I think judging by how many other people this has happened to.

Glad I saw this post. Checked my card online today and sure enough I had a charge from them. I HAD canceled and they said they were sorry and that the computers must have gone down that day. They said they process their refunds on Wednesday's and the money should be in my account next Friday.

We'll see,

They did me as well but it was thru CW holdings, they charged me $99 so i put a dispute with my bank and cancelled my card and got another one.
I won the dispute,I took and added some of the complaints about them on ripoff.com so you might add some letters along as well and go to your bank and dispute it.tell them you didn't approve it or authorize it.

Jeremiah1218

08-07-2007 19:26:28

Can't we sue them for this. Thats credit card fraud. If so I might actually consider it since this is happening to tons of people. I hate seeing this type of stuff happen. $80 is not just chump change to some of us and they are going to keep screwing everyone outta their money until someone stops it.

turbohim

08-07-2007 21:16:30

Yes you can sue them, but unless you are your own lawyer you'll lose a lot more money then what you were charged.

tylerc

Small claims courts generally don't use lawyers, just each side stating their own case.

With the amount of people complaining about this offer (they got me too), it seems there might be a class action here. As well, there might be criminal allegations. Surely, someone here either is or knows a lawyer that might take this case.

Target I'm surprised they told you to return it. When I cancelled with them I got charged the next day for the full amount of the next order. They said that the day I ordered was technically day one and I cancelled the day after I was suppose to. All other offers I've had start the day after you order. So I was out of luck. When I called about the charge I asked what their return policy was they said that they don't take returns back so I just had to incur the charge. I didn't recieve the first product till 3 days after the trail period and the other stuff that I had to pay for took almost a month to get here. Glad you got something done.

I have now been refunded my money. And no, I didn't need to swear at them and get all mad. Just make sure you have the date you ordered, the date you cancled and your confirmation # of your cancelation and you really should never freak out.

So was the vast majority of people getting charged just people who messed up? Or is this offer charging people full price during the trial?

[quoted1135a42a7="manOFice"]So was the vast majority of people getting charged just people who messed up? Or is this offer charging people full price during the trial?[/quoted1135a42a7]

My experience was this

After realizing I didn't like the product I called and canceled with-in the trial time frame. I wrote down the date and cancelation # the gave me. About a month later my card was charged the entire amount (79.99) of a refill. I called them and told them I canceled. I was able to give them the date I cancelled and the confirmation #. They said it was probably a computer qlitch. They refunded my money (about 10 days later) and haven't heard from them since, about 2 months now.

Yeah they may try to scam people who aren't paying attention to their credit card statements but If people always write down the proper information there is no need to worry about getting your money back. Even though it really stinks when this happens.
