The only thing the FBI has gotten involved in here was the DudeLovesFinch thing, which was much bigger than just FiPG. He stole over $200,000 from Half.com.

I just have a hard time pushing the lever and watching my money swirl around a few times before disappearing into the abyss of the toilet.
Well. You live and you learn.

It's a little bit more than pulling a lever. I've actually never have been scammed. I've had close calls, and even some supposed scammers...but each time I tracked them down somehow and got my money.
There was a guy (i want a laptop was his name I think) who went red on me and several others and disappeared. He had a website, I did a whois...he had all his real info on it...and I ended up calling his parents and telling them that their son was involved in fraudulent activity and that I was going to call their local police and have him arrested (LOL)
Needless to say, I got my money back. It took me calling about 5 times, getting more and more aggressive each time. I can only imagine how much trouble that kid got in with his mommy.
FBI over a trader though? They'll laugh at you, are you liseriousli???
Basically, doing this sort of thing has it's own risks. You must be aware of them if you plan on surviving in the freebie scene and making any money. As they say, there is no such thing as a free lunch. You have to put time, research and patience in your trades or you'll wind up worse off than you started.
