When i was new back in Janurary i agreed with Kala on A4F to do his Gaming.customorderthis.com since i had been doing some of his ordergiftsfree.com sites, with customorderthis.com kala contacted me saying he tought i had gone red so i contacted COT thru aim and this is what i have

Wow, I've seen a few of these kind of complaints about COT around, disregarded all of them because they were all newbies and the COT admin is well known. Did you try logging into those 2 other accounts with your password? Don't do it from your PC, though, or they'll look like your accounts.

You know what i actually never tried that before thx for the tip and i'll try that out in a few mins and take a Print screen shot from a freinds computer and posted to see if it worked. I also agree with him taking advantage of new people especially since his well known on A4F it was stupid for me to post there since the only people posting there were the mods and favoring on his side while i get stuck with having a bad rep over there. x

wow that is really low of customorderthis (I am always worried about new networks you never know when they go ahead and not pay) but having the same password? That is ridicolous. About the missing information that is your fault you should of been more careful. But just by the sounds of it it just seems that COT wanted an excuse to place you on hold I wouldnt be surprised if he probably deleted himself. Just seems shady I will never do one of his sites. Especially with missing information like that it happens to me all the time in some sites where I register But I do put everything right the first just for some reason sometimes the information seems to dissapear sometimes , so I have to reenter it. Like on yourgiftsfree I had to enter my country and stuff quite a few times cuz it just kept chaning on me weird. But anyways seems like COT is a very shady admin never doing his sites!

You've already been paid by us several days ago. We did not try to "put you on hold" because of this issue; we just needed to figure out why exactly COT had placed you on hold. In all honesty, after discovering why COT did put you on hold, I found his reasoning ridiculous.

He is going to try to log into the other accounts with his password, which his friend tried and it did not work. To prove that he's doing it with the correct info, he's using a video. He's going to type in his log in info, which works fine, copy his password so he can paste it later, log in and show it works, then try logging in to the other accounts that COT stated above with that password that is still in the copy thing, by pasting it right into the password section. There is no way that this could not work, all of the accounts were placed on hold, which means they couldn't have changed their password, I doubt that COT changed the other user's passwords, either.

Everyone may have the same password at one time or another. I always let same passwords slide. The only time when I look into it more, is if there is an account with CLOSE addresses, and pretty much the same info. That is when the red flag goes up for me to investigate.

About 99% of the time, I don't even mess with password matching. With almost 7 billion people in the world, I'm sure someone will have the same password at one time or another.....

And unless a user has been on hold at other sites for offer frauding, or huge fraud in general, if their account shows no evidence that they frauded us, and their leads were clear, then it would be dishonest to hold them, unless, again, they have frauded several networks.

Sounds like a bad deal......Come visit us, and I can assure you, although we are a smaller network, if ANY problem arises, we work everything out )

shouldnt your password be protected from site owners as well? i had thought that was common practice. what if i use the same password on paypal and my bank account as my cot pw?
it seems shady for some 16 year old to be able to look at all of our passwords.

Wow, after hearing that, my initial thoughts of starting customorderthis just went out the window.

those pw crosschecks aren't always accurate. I had an admin account on a site that I used to run. I ran a dupe account check via ip, pw, and cookies. Once the passwords one came up as being dupe-- my admin account with a member account. I was like 'wow--what are the odds'. So for mere kicks (and the fact that the user was inactive and I wanted to keep them active), I tried to login to the user's account. it didn't work. despite the pw check saying we were dupes.

Ordecash4free did the same thing to me I was put on hold bc my password was too common....

The passwords are encrypted...we can not see what they are. We just see an alert that tells us it matches someone else.

Just to support GMario, I did in fact ask COT my self if Gmario was clear and he told me was fine and next thing you know, hes on hold.

Watched the video. Seems strange that COT is not saying anything here................. Makes me want to go in and change all of my passwords (except then I'd never remember what I changed them to).

I'll just poke my head in here and say what I've said before while site owners get screwed and defrauded all the time, and certainly can run their sites how they feel, they should really think twice about blanket holds over a single suspicious element such as a dupe password. And I hope the dupe check was done against hashes and not against cleartext passwords, which would mean the clear pw's are being stored.

If a pw is a dupe and there is other suspicious info about the account, that's different. But to blanket hold because of a SINGLE instance of dupe pw, dupe IP, or IP blacklisted as proxy, in most cases is WRONG and is a disservice to your customers. In those cases I'd have to give benefit of the doubt to my customer.

DO NOT use the same password on freebie sites (or any other site for that matter) that you use for any other important site such as your bank, PayPal, work or school VPN, etc. Freebie sites pop up almost daily, and not all are either scrupulous or employ proper scripts to protect passwords. It's happened in the past that a site owner or support person was able to hijack pw's and use them to screw people, because their scripts weren't 1-way hashing the pw's. ALWAYS create either a single-use pw for each site, or at least use a freebie-only password so that the worst somebody can do is login to one of your freebie accounts.

There was an address of just 4 numbers and nothing else, but that was more than likely that autofill program. That is what I caught at first, along with the same pw's.

I don't think the 4 numbers for the address is enough of a justification to add onto the similar passwords problem.

Figured I'd make a post in here.

1. In the A4F thread, were you the original person the thread was about who wanted $599 with no refs? Because it looked like that was the person that was getting made fun of. Assuming you're a different person, I didn't see you getting made fun of in the thread.

2. I believe COT uses FSR, in which case, I can assure you that all the passwords are encrypted and MD5'ed. For example, with the password of "password" I see ae2b1fca515949e5d54fb22b8ed95575 (as well as "Warning Password Matches Found" and a list of about 800 users, but that's another story).

3. It's possible that the people who you were sharing a password with are reading this thread and changed it because of that. I say that because you share a password with them on my site too. If you want proof, don't try to log into their accounts. That's not cool and I will put you on hold if I see your IP on their accounts. I can pm you a screenshot of your account page. I don't want to post it because it has your personal info on it. However, I should also add that....

4. I don't think a shared password is a good reason to hold someone, but it does serve a purpose. If the only connection between the two users is a shared password, you're fine. But it does give me an alert to look more closely. For example, the other day I was approving an account and saw a shared password and the accounts that were sharing the password had some surface similarities. So I investigated more, checked some more conclusive things and it looked like it was just a coincidence so I paid the account. I'm not 100% certain but it might have even been one of your refs. P On the other hand, one big time recent scammer used the same password on most of his accounts which made catching him that much easier. And yes, I'm being vague on purpose about the "other similarities" and "more conclusive things."

With that said - don't take anything I said as either an endorsement or a criticism of Custom Order This or any other freebie site. I've never signed up for a Custom Order This site so I can't speak good or ill of them and I don't personally know of any intentional ripping off of users on their part so I can't speak either way on that either. I just wanted to clear up a couple things, especially the md5. Your passwords are safe (unless you have the password "password")

For example, the other day I was approving an account and saw a shared password and the accounts that were sharing the password had some surface similarities. So I investigated more, checked some more conclusive things and it looked like it was just a coincidence so I paid the account. I'm not 100% certain but it might have even been one of your refs. P On the other hand, one big time recent scammer used the same password on most of his accounts which made catching him that much easier. I don't think those people would of changed their passwords, and i guess i should change my password if your telling me this.

Gmario, you should change the title of this thread to refect that your dispute has been resolved. It certainly has been an very informative thread for but the title as it stands is now a a bit misleading.
