How much would you be willing to pay to insure that no one could scam you on a trade?
Just wondering.
I'd pay a couple dollars.

The issue of an escrow service has been discussed many times. It never happens because
a) half the people involved in the discussion don't understand the way escrow works and react negatively out of impulse; and
b) it would be difficult to set up--for technical reasons, and because it would require a moderator or some other trusted party to put his own PayPal account at risk.
Overall, I still like the idea. But it's probably not gonna happen...

that would only cover the pay for refs, wouldn't it. Because if its a ref for a ref, theres not too much you can do to stop that.

Yes, that's true.
The only way to do it would be to require a deposit equivalent to the value of the ref. So you'd put up $25, do your offer, and after a certain period of time, your ref would be deemed valid and you'd be refunded your deposit.
Can't imagine that'd be too popular.
