Damnit, out of 3 trades I have 1 successful, 1 took and ran with the money (ProdiG) and now note235 can possibly go red for me.

I'm out $47 so far from this site.

jack001

16-04-2006 16:01:14

he also greened for me, and i payed him $20

Would you all suggest filing a paypal dispute for that $20? it was only a few days ago...

theysayjump

16-04-2006 16:11:43

Yes. Contact Paypal and file complaints against him for each transaction that took place bettwen you both.

It should be noted that he was also alphaman, so if you traded with him, do the same.

Contact the site you did for him or the site he did for you and report him as a scammer with a link to this thread. If you did a site for him, ask for them to remove your green from his account. ONLY FREEPAY WILL NOT DO THIS, EVERY OTHER NETWORK/SITE WILL.

He said he greened at my site when he's still yellow, thinkin I'd blindly send him paypal. What a joke.

I filed a paypal dispute...Ive never had to file one before so I dont know how likely it is that paypal sides with the buyer...if anyone has any suggestions please let me know

He greened for me for my last FlashiPods4free referral using Blockbuster and I sent in for approval on Saturday.

Does this mean that he is going to go red for sure and I should place the PayPal dispute ASAP?

EDIT

Just filed a PayPal complaint and did a quick Yahoo! search on his name...

Found his/her name on this website
http//www.pikeplacemarket.org/frameset.asp?flash=true

He went red for me on gear.free4me and hotstuff.free4me. Here's the paypal info I got from him when he accidentally left a shipping address while issuing a refund for one of the sites he went red on

I'm still waiting on a refund for the other offer he failed to complete. I've filed a claim on this paypal account. Hopefully, if enough people file claims, we'll get our money back.

Supacold

It is not enough that we have to worry about shady offers, we also have to worry about shady traders... I scammed once when I first started last year. I can't imagine getting scammed multiple times. I would be ready to kick somebody's ass. Good luck, guys. )

There should be a new system in FiPG When you sign up, supply your phone number and a picture of you (hey, the freebie sites want a number and address). Maybe an address too. Then Admin calls everyone personally to make sure it is them, and maybe pays them a visit. That way we'll know who we deal with whenever they scam someone.

Like, a wall of shame/FiPG All Poitns Bulletin thing whenever someone scams =D

lol i dont think FIG has the money or the man power to do all that. maintaining this website is alot for itself.
But i do agree, there should be a new system for trading... TR is a very thin if not no protection?

Maybe for new users there should be a time period for them to begin trading and checking for IP? or......require a number of post for them to be able to trade. So that why the scammers have to work there way to us, make it seem like a oppsticle and they might give up before trading us?

unknown uchiha

17-04-2006 14:54:54

A "High Council" led by FGR_Admin and like twelve other traders with the highest TR. Like, the Council of 13 Traders who approve and reject people for trading. =P

Supacold

17-04-2006 14:58:46

hmm just though of this...
In order to start trading you need to be referred by someone that is already a member of the forum for about a month with a certain # of post?

And limited the amount of traders for newbies..

anyone call his ass yet?

I once got scammed by a dude and I pulled his info and called his house. I then talked to his MOM. hahahahah

I told her that her son was scamming people on the internet. Shit was hilarious.

JennyWren

17-04-2006 16:17:41

I did a search for whatisntseen (who scammed me) online and I've posted all his info on my blog, so anyone who comes by can laugh at him and send nasty emails if they so desire.

I'd post a link to the blog but it's a free ipod thing with my ref links so....I won't.

Regarding the probationary period for n00bies, it's a good idea except that you'd be likely to drive off people (like me) who want to get started doing good trades but don't want to wait. Unfortunately it punishes the good with the bad. I really appreciate everyone that has traded with me here and on A4F because I am new - yes I had the "power" of not having signed up for much (a month ago, now I have so many sites to keep track of!), but also people had to trust that I was legit.

17-04-2006 21:53:33

I go "is jason there??"

She says just a minute. I hear muffled talking than she comes back on and says "no one named jason lives here" and hangs up.

so I call again and get him and he hangs up

then I call again and his mom picks up and i start telling her how her son is scamming people to get free ipods and shit, she doesn't say much but hangs up quickly

next time I call she tells me to stop calling their house or she's gonna report me. I then told her quickly that I was calling their local police department on her son (I named the town) and she hung up quickly.

I would have killed to be there to see that all go down...hahaha he probably got bitch slapped for this.

"I told you there was no free lunch!!! I told you that you just can't get free ipods without paying something!"

is how i imagine it was
