Yup, he went red for me on dvdrecorders4free and yourfreeflatscreen overnight. I knew it was a good idea to wait until this morning to make sure he was still green before paying him. I just want to say thanks to theysayjump for being quick to alert us and at least help me to save my money. Great work!
Heh, he was in such a hurry to try and get money out of me before it happened that he didn't even have time to confirm our trades, he just did em.

Word from the wise watch out for traders who come on here and only are accepting paypal or brand new traders who say every site open for cash. Most all of the time they are scammers.. =\

ARRRRRRRGH
I just got home to see my premiumipods has all 8 greens!! After submitting for approval, i went to trade mod and proceeded to send paypal to this fishbitrate. Immediately after that I came to the forums and saw this!
I get ahead of myself sometimes I guess.
He just greened for me this evening, and is still green now. But I suppose it would be foolish to think that won't change. How can he green on so many sites and then turn red? I mean what exactly is he doing? I assume he has already done all of these sites before? Or is he purposely making a second account or something after he gets the paypal money to make it go red?
I already submitted a paypal dispute, hope they pull through.
thanks for looking out TSJ.

Everyone should open a dispute at the same time...
deathscythe257
12-12-2005 18:50:54
I agree, if everyone opens a dispute against this user, paypal will most likely move in our favor, seeing as how many complaints this fool has
deathscythe257
12-12-2005 18:53:39
BTW, in my dispute page, I provided a screenshot of his going red light, (while making sure to block out everyone elses info of course), dunno how thatll help, and here was his response to what I did

yeah, he knows jsut what to respond with.
Daggoth
12-12-2005 20:05:27
wait, I am confused. The seller should automatically win the case if it is virtual goods, but if someone sent the money as "Goods" they should automatically win since the seller cannot provide tracking information.
deathscythe257
12-12-2005 20:16:15
well, if everyone opens a dispute like they should for being scammed, Paypal will more than likely pick up about what that fool is doing.
although you bring an interesting argument for virtual goods,
Moreover, thats true, he cannot provide any proof, he has no proof that he went green, I have proof he went red however, I have hte receipt for the money he sent me, and i wrote clearly in it that it was for a green light on flashipods4free.com.
Daggoth
12-12-2005 20:53:33
Im pretty sure I read this somewhere in the TOS of paypal but it said that since Virtual Goods cannot be tracked, they are not eligible for a dispute.

He has done a couple of Freepay sites for other people so, there's none of his links in the Trade Module. I can get Jake to have a look at the accounts signed up from the link he used in the trades, as well as give him his IP so he can try to match the accounts.
We can get him put on hold that way.

Actually, we're better off filing a chargeback with the credit card company. That way, Paypal might lose money so they'll freeze his funds. It'll be at least 75 days before he gets the money back (if he gets to keep it, which I doubt).
Given the fraud and the amount he's been scamming, he'll probably get in trouble if fraud prevention at one of the companies act.

[quote5f83903710="jerriblank"]
Especially given that there are KNOWN scammers whose identity is NOT in question who aren't banned from trading.[/quote5f83903710]
I didn't say fishbitrate wasn't a scammer - I was just noting that you were prepared to prevent him from trading based on a suspicion that he was a reincarnation of someone who'd been banned, while Codex, a well-known scammer with multiple victims who needs his own web site to handle all the discussion, isn't banned and until yesterday still had a very high TR.
I just don't get the inconsistency, especially given that the rules are pretty clear
"b. If you do not hold to your word, or you behave in any way that seems 'shady', you will be banned. There is no room for that here."
Apparently there's room for it if you're Codex Avellum. 'Sall I'm saying.

It's the fact that i gave my reasons for being suspicious about him, yet you and Daggoth both implied I was wrong to do so, just because another member of the forum hasn't paid you back yet.
I really don't know how many more times I need to say this, but if I had banned him when you all wanted me to, there would be even less of a chance of you guys getting anything.
If you get paid, you get paid, if you don't, you don't. The only personw ho can do anything about it is codex.

Well, freepay granted my approval on premiumipods and fishbitrate was my last green. I kept expecting freepay to change him to red, but they never did. WEEEEEEEE
The best part is, I saw this thread originally almost immediately after I paypal'd him, and then directly went and filed a paypal complaint with the rest of you, HAH.
I didn't get my money back of course, but at least he stayed green.
