too fuckin funny. Why anyone would trade with Pete after I unearthed his attitude, direspectfulness, and willingness to admit to fraud is astonishing. Guess you have no one to blame but yourself. rllpk is a sketchy character, I randomly get this IM from him, from him a few months earlier, asking if I can do freeflatscreens for $35 (awfully high for two months ago). No pms from him on here. He's on AIM now for me.

Woulda been courteous to PM or otherwise notify me that he was going to be out of town for so long. He's one of my last refs on two different sites; on 10/17, it will have been 3 weeks since he initiated the trade, and I sent him the $50 a week ago.

What pisses me off is that he told me initially that he would go first (even though he has a higher TR) because he didn't know when he could do the offer. He even put a comment to that effect in the trade module. Then he PMed me later to say that he wouldn't do the offers until I paid him. So I paid him with an hour or two, and here we are.

Whatever, I'm patient, but shit, this is why I like the idea of an escrow service. Send the PayPal to a mod to demonstrate that you're good for the cash, then, if the guy with the higher TR liactually greensli, that's when he gets the cash. Not three weeks before he even yellows...

I realize it's a decision to be made after much deliberation. But I don't think that a high TR and post count is license to "borrow" $50 when a cut-and-dry agreement is in place. Even if he comes through, there ought to be consequences for such carelessness.

What's interesting is that the claim was resolved so quickly. If you look back at my earlier post, the seller supposedly has 10 days to prove that he has already issued a refund.

I'm wondering whether he just conceded that he hadn't upheld his end of the deal and decided to refund the money. But, other than the status change of my claim at PayPal, there's still no word from him. I guess I may never know what the deal with him is.

I wish those who greened for him had some recourse...

I went green for him long ago, and he was supposed to do pspgadgets4free. This turned out to be a scam site, and he claimed to do an offer but never went green. He paid me $5 and told me he had already spent $20 on the offer.

But now I'm not sure he actually did an offer. Fuck.

I actually don't think Pete intended to fuck anybody over. As I browse through old threads, I notice he always seemed to be pretty involved in the forum.

When he set up the two trades with me, he seemed to be aware that the immediate future would be unpredictable for him. At first, he made it a point to say that he didn't know when he would be able to green, and even offered to go first. But then he suddenly changed his tune, asked for money, switched his signature, and disappeared.

It isn't that surprising that he didn't come back by the date he said he would; it seems like something was going on with him that took precedence over the freebie world. It was sloppy and maybe a little irresponsible, but I don't think he outright lied to anybody.

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if he came back and tried to make things right. The more I think about it, the more it just doesn't add up that he turned to the dark side...
