Id like to suggest that everyone remove their aim or other sn from their profile because it seems like thats how most of the scammers contact people. Only give your info out to people that have contacted you through pms about trading if necessary. Thats the reason I dont have mine in my profile, and it seems to help. That way you have their forum name and reputation from the get go and they have to be a member to contact you

Yes, apparently this jerk is posing as me. As an FYI to all members, I'm happy to trade with you... but I start everything through PM. As discussed above, it's a safer way to go.

You can exchange AIM names through PM and hammer out details through Instant Messenger, but start everything off INSIDE the forum! There are some crazy, selfish people out there. Luckily the new rules and trading system has really helped reduce scamming, but obviously people will try to find ways around them. Initiating trades within the forum affords you the best protection you can get, in my opinion. Kudos again to vulcan and the rest of the team!

If im understanding correctly are you saying that the tradepolice was posing as me? Well i can vouch that that conversation did occur, but here were my reasonings for giving him a chance (i no longer stay with the same reasoning)

1. He said he would offer a apology
2. He said he would offer a resolution to the issues
3. He sounded like he wasn't lying

She said her purplelenses account was banned from an accident and stroid was going to un-ban it. I know she hasn't been on in a while so who knows. Just avoid her.

Be on the look out for anybody contacting you on AIM with some sob story about how he promised his son a 20 GB ipod for his birthday but he doesnt have the money to buy one. First of all he isnt even a member of the forums, he is just browsing them looking for AIM sn's. He wanted to send me a money order after i completed the offer. He said it couldnt be paypal because he doesnt have paypal or a credit card. But in the beginning of the convo he had wanted to trade...im not quite sure how he was going to do an offer for me without a CC. Also, he couldnt explain how he did his own offer when i asked about the CC thing. Scammers should really get their stories straight before the conversation starts because i caught this guy in like 5 lies. Then he tried to lay a guilt trip on me, saying that if he was in my position he would be kind enough to help out. Not gonna happen!

/thinks anyone who says paypal is a scam is shady.

helix51(aim helix1287) went red for me on mp3players4free today and has since fell off the face of the earth...thank god i didnt pay him yet. just letting everybody know, he was dq'd for multiple accounts. if you read this, get off hold ill remove this post and youll get your money, otherwise, sorry.

situation with abaweet69 was resolved, he emailed OC the next day, got his account fixed the same day, and he has been paid....good trader

After going green for AniMe Max at gears4free.com, he never paid the final $22 of the $25 he was going to pay me, and then got me banned from the forum. He would not reply to any of my emails and despite his +8 trade record just tries to get new members to go green for him then gets them banned before they know what happened.

Apparently there is a guy on AIM "Verbaldave924", who is using my Trade Record to scam people. Please add him to the list on the 1st post.

He tried to scam Allen626, but he was too wylie. Tiger Mike wasn't as fortunate. (

Got me too unfortunately. I was about to leave some bad feedback but now I realized my hunch was right, he was using you. He scammed me for $40 and never signed up for my sites. I've been pretty careful about trading and this guy finally got me. Uggh! I too was talking to him on AIM as Verbaldave924. Chalk this up to another lesson.

He already scammed adam254 a month ago, but unforunately, I was unaware of it at the time.
I did freeipodshuffle for him, and he was supposed to do freeipods for me.
He had a 2 at the time, and still does, but I only had one. I figured he was safe, but once he wouldn't respond to my PM's even though he was reading them, I knew I was scammed.
He responded once to tell me that he honestly forgot,(a scammer using the word honestly is such bitter irony) and he said the same thing to adam254 several weeks ago, and never did the offer for him either.
I gave him a chance. I warned him that he would end up on this list if he didn't sign up, but he apparently didn't care.

Call me crazy, but this trader,Gel RT, seems a bit shady. Upon contacting him concerning a trade she got very quick to say no, about paying a few dollars up front, that scared me a bit, so I displayed the forum rules to him, and he sent me to a very poor forum where he had +21 trade record. That means nothing to me, that is like being a boss at Dunkin Donuts and going to Krispy Kreme and giving orders. Who cares? I want to see you have established yourself as a reputable trader on the forum you are attempting to conduct trades on. Also, Get2Friends is not a page, it is some forum thread with 4 horrible $20+ offers for a $150 gift. Traders beware.

I'm not jumping to conclusions, but i just thought the forum should be aware of FiSKARZ. I pm'd him after seeing his topic in the trading post and asked if we could trade referrals. Since I have the higher trade rep he would have to go first but he then replied to my PM with this

"Hey, sorry, at the moment I'm only trading with newer users/people who green first."

Now to me that sounds kind of suspicous. Why wouldnt he want to trade with someone who has a +24 record? Maybe he just wants the green faster and maybe he will see this and clear things up. Just thought you guys should know.
