New Trading Karma System
Admin

In an effort to simplify and streamline the trading process, I have installed another copy of the karma hack, except modified so that it can be used to indicate successful trades. It is also modified such that only admins, mods, and Nate can adjust people's scores. I hope you guys understand the motivation behind this move. It was suggested to me by Stroid and I feel this is important and valuable to building a safe and trusting community.
Feel free to post here with any comments or suggestions.

But why doesn't anyone have their trade record that they already established? is someone going to have to go in and change them?

I'm sorry, but I'm a little slow. So if someone posts my name in the Good Traders list and says we completed a trade, Nate will adjust my karma trade record to a positive?

Great job, thanks Admin for installing it. It should help quite a bit when you need a very quick reference for someone's positive karma, without having to go to the Good Traders list

Rearranged elements in the pane to the left of each post (avatar is no longer between title1 and title2) and bolded the trade record part for ease of viewing.

Everyones Trader Status should be updated according to the current Good Trader List. If your status is incorrect please pm Nate08 he is incharge of this operation...also give him some good karma for doing this D

Great Stuff. This is a nice system.
Kudos to all involved for creating and implementing this system. And continuous kudos to you, nate, for keeping up with everything. It's obviously quite a job.
I have a question, though. Trade records can go up and down, right? So say someone did 10 trades. I think, "wow, that's a really good trade record. I want to trade with him/her." But say that person at some point screws someone over. Then that person's trade record goes down to 9. If I'm looking for someone to trade with, I'd STILL look at the person's trade record, see a 9, and say, "wow, that's a really good trade record." I'd have no way of knowing that it used to be a 10, and some kind of incident had occurred.
Knowing that a bad trade had transpired, even if the person has done other successful trades, would make me think twice about initiating a transaction with a user. If it's happened once to someone else, who's to say it won't happen again... to me?
I think this is a great system, but I'm just wondering if there's some way to know if a person's trade record has been lowered for any reason. Would I just have to go through the "bad traders" thread and search for his or her name?
Again, I think this is a great system and should really help make trading less stressful!

Actually, there is a different version of the Karma Hack that would allow you to see both negative and positive votes for each user. Although BOS has already gone through the trouble of implementing this one that it may be more trouble than it's worth.

maybe a negative trade karma next to the positive number....
I'm sorry to bring this up now if it only causes more trouble. It might not even be important. Like I said, I'm super-grateful for all the work everyone has done. )
Well, you shouldn't post in the good traders list until the person is green, so there's really not reason why the good traders part would go down. As for having a bad trade, you really would have to look on the bad traders forum, unlesss someone can prove it, a mod wouldn't really want to make the judgement as to fault. If someone did 10 good trades and someone accuses them of one bad trade, chances are it's a personal issue between the traders, and not actually a scam. Just my thoughts.

It wouldn't be too much of a hassle to add another field and have each be exclusive.
Eg
Positive TRs 10
Negative TRs 1
But that doesn't seem to me to be necessary.
Exactly... I wasn't even sure if this is something that other people even felt was necessary. I bow to your wisdom, Admin. )

we should make a code list or something like that. Well more like a guide
1-5 trades take caution
5-10 decent trader
10+ Awsome trader
though those numbers might be a tad high but it can be adjusted, i mean this would benifit some new people that have no clue how many trades before they can trust people.
Also i would like to see a icon for 1337 traders)
Me, Stroids, Freeoffersnow, and CG lol
I really like the new system. I think that combined with the the rule for newbie trading it has really changed the trading system for the better. I expect to see far fewer scams now.

I think the rules i have posted are helping somewhat for the past few days ive seen no scams atleast that im aware of. also the trading karma is already quite a job to deal with so i think the way it is now is good enough.

Though I tend to agree, bad traders, even those with positive trades historically, will get called out, not everyone is on the forum everyday and wouldn't necessarily be able to identify the good traders that have become bad - thus I support identifying both the positive and negative trades being listed.

I agree it would be nice to see neg/pos but the thing is that we must do this manually Nate08 and I have been updating users all day and it gets really tedious (spli) . As well we dont benefit from doing this personally we do it to help others. The list grows bigger and bigger everyday and if we had to do both neg/pos it would be extremely dificult...if you guys have a suggestion on how to make it easier let us know and we will try to do it.
