All,

Since friendly bumps have been getting extremely out of hand, they are no longer allowed. There are groups of people going around bumping each other's post consistently, which is [bdd26897336]not[/bdd26897336] fair or in the best interest of the community. Friendly bumps will be rewarded with friendly temp-bans.

I know that friendly bumps help alot more but you can always give people Karma. That's being friendly. Right?

Bumping your own thread isn't considered a "friendly bump", therefore, you still may bump your own thread once every 24 hours, or create a new one every 3 days, but not both. )

Ok, I dont wanna break the rules here so let me ask a question about this. I bump my post everyday. And ocassionally I get a reply that isn't in the form of a PM. They post it on my post. If they do that bumps me back up to the top. Is that considered 2 bumps in one day. I guess what I am saying is... if I havent bumped myself yet and someone replies to it in the thread am I still allowed my personal bump for the day? and what if the reply comes after I have already used my 24 hour bump?

Then you can answer it, provided it's a question. However, if you bump, and someone then says "PM'd" before your next, you have no reason to acknowledge it short of an actual PM. Keep in mind, if we see people routinely abusing this as well, we [if627dc41de]will[/if627dc41de] take action.

Thanks so much for clarifying that for me. I don't usually answer a response with a reply in my thread, most of the time its in a private pm to the person. However it does ocassionally happen and I just didnt wanna mess up here.

it's when one of your buddies replies in your trade thread for no reason other than to bump your thread back to the top of page 1

Because since you stated that I have noticed some of the same people on the front page..and these are long timers, or better people who have been on here a while..I will not mention any names...but if i notice why don't you guys...I still see a lot of that friendly bumping going on..I think fair should be fair..Look at you front page tonight between 800 and 1000 pm central time..you have bumpers of the friendly kind going on...If I mess up I get a warning, just one since I have been on here..so if this is the rule we all need to obey it ..I would say what is good for the goose is good for the gander..So lets all be fair..I am not wanting to get people in trouble or cause trouble..just fair..R.K.

All rules are applied to all members equally. We admins of course are above all rules. ;)

Seriously though, we do not play favorites. Since this is a new rule there may be a transition time where we go easy and issue warnings at first. As time goes on and it has been made abundantly clear, the banhammer will fall.

[b928c93bc68]EDIT[/b928c93bc68] 320181, I just looked through the first page of the Trading Post forum, checking only the last post of each thread, and found only ONE friendly bump (which I warned). Every other post was either self-bumping or other folks saying PM'd or asking questions. I think you might not understand what "friendly bump" means. If that's the case, please re-read this thread in its entirety.

What i did was take a look at their whole pagessss and many of them to see a pattern probably the way you have. I saw the wording changed but the same people that were bumping before the change on Saturday, are still visiting and doing the same thing as a deal question..I am sorry about the insinuation about not being fair, I know you guys are fair. I have really enjoyed this site, it is one of the coolest things on the internet...I hope to continue to enjoy this site..Thanks!! Ray K.

What about cutting out the" 'pm'd you" too? That's what drives our threads to the back worse than the friendly bumps, I think anyway.

You can bump your own Trading Post thread once per 24 hours here as well. This topic is about friendly bumps, where you bump other people's topics as a favor, to get them around the 24 hour rule.

Yeah, sometimes I accidently bump my post within the 24 hour period as well because of the time zone thing. It will say I last bumped at like 330 PM the day before and it will be 400 PM the next day so I bump the post. I then notice that I really didn't bump it at 4 but itll say a different time that happened to be before 330. I have no idea what the hour difference is between your guys time and mine. I am in CST...is there any way to change the forum time to match that so I don't accidently bump my post within that 24 hour period? Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that was already addressed somewhere - just can't remember where.

I almost never post in a trade thread unless the person specifically says to post there instead of PMing. Honestly, it seems to me that posting in the thread gives more opportunity for other traders to see the thread - which means extra competition for greens.

Sorry guys - I love to see everyone succeed, really I do - but my first priority is catching those newbies myself !

You can change your time zone in your profile. I live on the East Coast and mine is set at GMT-5, so hopefully that helps.
