To the recent responses and I have decided that I just pick a artist on past experience. So please if you are a Professional artist and graphics designer pm me your profolio.

I want a custom logo for my company PlanetRugs.com. I’m looking for something that will provoke a cool, modern, and powerful look. We’re working with centuries old art with a modern twist of being online, so keep that in mind. Nothing boring! Pretty much I'm going to trust in the designers ability and let them do a GREAT design. I will need it to be in vector format and along with the logo we will need a business card, letterhead, and envelope. It will have to be color print and color web ready. There will be a $50[/size0a9e8b61f2] for the artist I choose, which is for the vectored logo, letterhead, business card, and envelope .

All designs posted here will become the property of PlanetRugs.com.

Good Luck and Thank you.

I'm fond of these styles.

http//img.singaporeair.com/saa/en_UK/images/krisflyer/earn_miles/non_air_partners/credit_cards/Amex_logo_dark.JPG (I like the change of color in the background and how it gives a 3d look)

http//www.neddam.com/images/company%20logos.gif ( I like the Nissan logo in that set)

http//www.webdesign.org/img_articles/7718/Locking-Macromedia-Flash.jpg (another look I admire)

I am also a fan of the apple look (apple.com)

Also by SERIOUS I mean PROFESSIONAL, so no half hearted attemps. Thank you

What type of vector format are you looking for? SVG? EPS?

Those you point out as liking are fairly simple to do, they're mostly just gradients. But they're not ideally suited to vector graphics. SVG does support some gradients I believe, but usually if you go with something highly "rendered" you'll wind up with a raster image wrapped up in a vector format, but it won't be very scalable like a full vector image. Most vector images intended to be scaled a lot will usually be "flatter" and less rendered. I imagine that to get around the scaling issue, most places just produce multiple resolutions/sizes of rendered bitmapped images from Photoshop and use them as-is without scaling.

I've been working on converting myself away from Photoshop and to the Gimp, so maybe I'll do something for you just for the practice. )

No offence, but if you are looking for pro work, [b05d5f79efc]$50[/b05d5f79efc] is a bit cheap.

Yeah, $50 is a LOT cheap. ) To have multiple versions done AND get all ownership rights typically costs in the hundreds to the thousands, depending on the complexity of the logo.

The only reason I'm even considering doing it is as an excuse to get used to the Gimp. But I imagine we have several budding and wannabe young 'choppers around here who have nothing better to do and want to make a quick fitty. lol

If you're interested pm or aim me your previous work. As for the vector question I would like the final to me delivered in AI, EPS and JPG formats.
