Okay its been too long, I went green for wutthechris who is a 5+ trader, and did it on mar 28 and he has not responded to any PMs nor has he even clicked my link. I know he has read my PMs, but like I said, he won't even respond . I know several people have the same problem. Do NOT trade with him if he ever ask. I am calling him out right now, please do your offers and I will get this post deleted. I put it here for 2 reasons, to let everyone know about him and for wutthechris to redeem himself since there is a better chance for him to see it here.

Is there anything we can do in these types of situations? Can we contact gratis and get our referral removed, saying we got conned in one way or another (I wouldn't mind giving gratis the referral, just not to the poor trader)? Banning them from this site just makes them re-register, not a huge deterrant although they'll have to build their rating up again.

I might be in a similar situation eventually. What's a reasonable amount of time to wait?

Agreed. Not many people visit the shady traders list. But threads like these should only be used in the extreme cases. this one is debatable though..

Another thing is that 2-3 other people are waiting also. Not to mention this is someone that had a 5 trade record. So other people might get screwed thinking, "Hey this guy should be legit..." when they are not.

I'm in the same situation, greened for him early last week (he was one of my first trades), and I haven't gotten anything back since, HOWEVER to give him some credit, his last post on the forums was Mon. 3/28, and I've been also told that he may be having some "outside of the forums" issues...we will see

That I know, however...if your PM that you sent him is in your outbox(when it was in the sentbox) that means he has read your PM. He has read my PMs but has not replied. Please post here if you have traded with him or if you have had contact with him in any form in the last week. I don't want other people getting screwed, so help out if you can.

He PM'ed me this weekend wanting to trade. So, he's definitely active here.

Yeah, looks like wutthechris is a shady bastard. Time for him to be banned for good(mods please do so) I am going to post it in the bad trader section now.

I have to apologize to you guys. I started a trade with wuttthechris back on MARCH 11th. I think we both had a +2 or something TR at that point. I then proceded to signup under him for tech4free and he lisupposedlyli signed up for me. However, before I did an offer I contacted him saying he hadn't shown up. He then did signup and I told him I'd get back to him with what offer I did. Once I did an offer I PM'd him the info but didn't hear back right away. After pestering him he emailed something vague about he thought he had signed up for GreatFun.

Here's where it got unfortunate. I'd been doing another trade at the same time with two other guys who did Great Fun, and they didn't get credit for 2 weeks. So, both of those guys finally did another offer for me and eventually went complete - but not wutthechris. After sending some heated PM's he finally messaged back in righteous indignation saying he moved and didn't have internet at home. Well, it rang pretty true and I trusted him (this was March 21st - 10 days after we started and like 8 after I'd completed my offer for him). He drug it out a little longer and finally on the 28th he said he'd complete another offer. All the while he was very believable, just slow in responding. The guy had +5 TR so I figured I was just getting unlucky and since he moved, yada-yada-yada, he'd complete. Well, finally I've PM'd him over the past week to no avail threatening to post in the bad trader's thread and then I went there tonight to do so (loathing to be reduced to posting about him) and I came across this thread.

I apologize for not having pointed this cheat out earlier - I took his good-natured dialogue hook-line-n-sinker. Grrr. I just want to get my LAST freakin' referral for ipod shuffles! I'm apparently cursed to never complete that offer (previously 2 referrals who have been perfectly legit for me on numerous sites were denied, now this loser yanking my chain so I missed the most recent STV).

You have his nickname which has been used on other forums and a possible first and last name. The last name is not common.

Google both his name and his nickname separately. By doing that, you will be able to piece together some information about the guy.

Perhaps you could find another way to contact him outside the forum.

Just remember to be polite. As unlikely as it may be, he may have a legitimate reason for not responding to any of your requests.

On the flipside, let's say he is scamming. If you point out that you have other ways to contact him, maybe he'll straighten up his act.

Yeah, I've thought of that and googled him. I think I probably know who he is and such, we'll see if I act on it. I'm just tired of wasting time on this guy.

but putting the ban on is necessary to temporarily prevent
him from soliciting other new users to make trades.

however, it doesn't always work. these scammers are ruthless.

went on the clean, had a bunch of trades
and now has over a +10 record. so he is now a "very legitimate trader."
but it's the same guy, same broken english posts,
same aggressive tone. He denies everything and I of course

How do you call out someone with a +12 ? Not easy!

Moral of the story.....well there is no moral. Just be careful.
