I'm happy - hopefully they won't cancel my refs - all of which are unique.

Awaiting approval now )

Only 2 greens for me now on notebooks, but I will finish within 2 weeks most likely. I'm taking the thousand bucks and running, I already have a pretty nice ThinkPad T40.

BAH! "Oh an offer? I don't want to right now." says most of my yellow refs. I'd be done if they would just do an offer! Just a few more.....

wwhich notebooks are u guys getting?

Phossil

I didn't pay for all of mine - most are friends - I'll be getting the $1000 as the most expensive notebook (AMD Averatech) can be purchused on the net for $850 - I would lose alot of $$ if I tried to resell it.

Actually, I think the AMD Averatec is the cheapest one. The one that I ordered, the P4 Averatec retails for $1100.

Cool. There's no way I could pay for refs, and certainly not 18. D

I know that there's a Paypal fee/cut, so it won't be 1g, but I did see that lappie go for around that price, so I dunno if I'm set in stone on the Athlon, except to say that it's the one I'd keep if I'm keeping any. ;)

Not that either Averatec is gonna last long on a charge, but I think the AMD would perform better...

I don't think paypal takes a cut - either that or offercentric pays enough that it comes out to $1000 because it's reported to be the full amount.

Paypal does take a cut provided it's over $500. (You also have to upgrade your account to receive it)

I've never heard that OC sends more in order to cover the fee....

The cut is specific to certain kinds of payments. I asked inferno69 about his $1000 when he finished the site, but he was already a premium member.

It's only 3% + $30, but still...I've heard they take no cut, but I don't know for sure.

Actually there's no cut involved when offercentric sends you money. I've gotten money from them quite a few times and there were never any fees.

You're crazy if you think that $1100 is the best price you can find for that notebook. It was just on sale the other day somewhere for $749.

I said that it [b7ae1fe0779]retails[/b7ae1fe0779] for $1100.

I saw an online vendor had it for around $800 too but they were refurbished models.

And, I saw it at circuit city in person and the price was around $1100. It's even more on their website; http//www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Averatec-Notebook-PC-AV6130H1-10-/sem/rpsm/oid/96069/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do[]http//www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Averatec-Notebook-PC-AV6130H1-10-/sem/rpsm/oid/96069/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

pffft....

When is the last time you bought any computer stuff from Circuit City?

I'm getting the P4 Averatec too. It seems like the perfect computer for me....... Except for the battery life.

Tholek

19-03-2005 18:38:26

Each has tradeoffs, the P4 has a P4HT and Radeon video, but a smaller HD, and a CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive, while the Athlon has a DVD-RW drive and a bigger HD, yet a smaller LCD.

I think the Athlon beats the P4 by a big margin, but not overwhelmingly so.

Why isn't anyone considering the iBooks?

I know they aren't PC's, but I've read some bad reviews about the quality of Averatec machines.

I don't own any Apple products, but it's pretty well known that their hardware is good quality.

If I ever decide to take on the large task of finding 18 ppl to sign up, I'm going for an iBook 12".

As a PC user that wants to use the Mac more, I would much rather have an iBook over a PC laptop.

i got my camerasforfree $325 last week and no cut...they do it so you actually show up as the buyer, dunno how it works, but i got a full $325 out of the $325 total payment
