[bf5ef6a899d]GiftMonkey.com[=http//www.giftmonkey.com]GiftMonkey.com is live![/bf5ef6a899d]

There were a few delays but it's finally out. GiftMonkey is currently in a soft launch so it will be going through some layout and content polishing in the coming weeks. There may also be some tweaks to the products and features. Please email our support with any feedback or suggestions about our product selection, new features, the look of the site or anything else you can think of.

So what makes GiftMonkey different?

[bf5ef6a899d]Open offer selection[/bf5ef6a899d]
No OODs, good selection of free offers.

[bf5ef6a899d]You are not required to complete an offer[/bf5ef6a899d]
You don't have to do an offer unless you want to. If you do, you'll need less referrals, it's up to you. You will get points for the first offer you do only but your referral(s) will get points for any additional offers you complete.

[bf5ef6a899d]Point based & referral based[/bf5ef6a899d]
Products cost points and offers earn you points. You still have to get referrals though, you only get credit for the first offer you complete but you'll get full points for any offer your referrals do. So if your referral does an offer worth 2 points, you get 2 points.

[bf5ef6a899d]Muti-offer referrals[/bf5ef6a899d]
Each of your referrals can do as many offers as they want and you'll get credit for all of them.

[bf5ef6a899d]Get multiple items[/bf5ef6a899d]
You can get multiple items (one at a time).

[bf5ef6a899d]Large product selection[/bf5ef6a899d]
Product selection includes every item from every OC site plus some new items.

[bf5ef6a899d]Reusable referrals[/bf5ef6a899d]
If you are going for another item after getting your first, you can reuse the referrals from your first item. You don't have to get a whole new set of unique referrals.

[bf5ef6a899d]Open referral trading[/bf5ef6a899d]
Not only can you do multiple offers for the person you signed up under, you can do multiple offers for anyone else, even if you didn't sign up under them. The only restriction is that you can't do an offer for one of your referrals.

The usual stuff is the same, no dupe accounts, no doing the same offer multiple times, etc.

Well, obviously we need a Thinkpad on there... ;)

Also, are upgrades to higher ref "tiers" automatic, or do we have to file a ticket to have it done manually? (Like first choose a 10 point offer, but having enough points for a better item)

Wait let me get this straight

If I sign up unreferred, I can only complete one offer and have it count towards my points? Any additional offers won't count towards my prize?

Also, how do referral credits work? If I get three referrals, do they count each as one point, or are the points from my referrals based on the offers that the referral completes?

Good question, I was going to ask that since I couldn't find it under the Help section.

When you referral does an offer, you get the point value of that offer.

So if your referral does an offer worth 1 point, you get 1 point, etc. Your referrals can do multiple offers for you so it can get stuff with less referrals.

We'll be adding a Thinkpad this week.

You can automatically change to a more expensive item or one of equal value, no need to contact support.

Correct. The reason you would want to do more offers is to do them for others for pay or trade or if you get a referral that's not signing up for pay or trade such as someone doing it as a favor, this lets them do multiple offers for you so you don't have to get as many unique referrals.

How does one, who signed up before 10/05 go about downgrading their gift (since I can't complete offers for myself).

12-10-2006 13:56:48

Doylnea,

I dont think they allow to downgrade. If you signed up before 10/05, you can upgrade your gift anytime.

Correct me if I am wrong

I opened a support ticket and was luckily able to downgrade. Don't know if they'll make an exception for everyone though.

Thanks. I'll do the same.

FYI, [quote395f2e1bea="offercentric at A4F"]Because the rules regarding changing your gift wasn't clearly stated before, we will allow all members who joined GiftMonkey before 10/5 to change their selected gift to any item. We know many of you want to have the ability to change to any gift at any time and we look into allowing this in the near future.[/quote395f2e1bea]

I just placed an order for a DS Lite! The status says "order placed" so I'm assuming that approval was automatic or something? Can anyone let me know if this is true or not?

What are the "steps" in OC's Approval-Shipping process?
