what are the requirement differences for the different tiers on certain sites such as notebooks4free?? theres a 12in. iBook...or a MacBook...how do you get the better one?

I've never done an OC site b4...but i want to...and unfortunately i don't know a lot about them. They do have OODs, right? do you like have to do more than one offer, if not for the base then for the more expensive gifts? thanks!

No, it's like this

18 refs = tier 1
21 refs = tier 2
24 refs = tier 3

As you past the needed refs for one tier, the others should become available to choose. (At least that's what they said)

They also say there are just as many OOD if you go for tier 1, or higher, but I noticed a sharp dropoff after 17, so I think it's all OOD after that all the way to 24.

ok thanks. You're the man for free laptop info, arn't you? +krma!

so i do 1 OOD, right? ok i wasn't sure if i had to do more offers for the third tier as well.

then the first 17 refs can do a normal offer, and then past that the remaining 7 refs have to do OODs? is that whay you're saying?

I'm thinking about doing this...cuz it looks like the best place to get a MacBook...or a good chunk of cash for college next fall wink

Err, I still haven't gotten a laptop yet, so...

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

You do one normal offer (unless you like the OOD ones). It's the last 2 or 3 people who sign up for you, who will only be offered OOD to choose from. Well, at least to tier 1. I think they [i25e1a97b67]all[/i25e1a97b67] see OOD beyond that, though.

[i25e1a97b67]That's[/i25e1a97b67] correct.

Depends on promotion, gullib....err, I mean [i25e1a97b67]good[/i25e1a97b67] friends ( ;) ), and possibly having to trade for the last few, if not pay outright for them.

ROTFL @ "laptop king". Oh how I wish....all I have is a drawer containing the remnants of my old 166Mhz Thinkpad.

No, I've just been vocal. I pushed for laptops.freepay, and got it. Just not the [i25f0222718]actual[/i25f0222718] laptop. roll

I've also been inquisitive about OC's tier system, which I guess you noticed. I actually now have enough for tier one, but an ill-timed trade has gotten me an extra green. Now I'm on the fence over whether I should cut and run (losing that green, and it's value), or stick it out to see if I can make it to tier 2 or 3.

I've been signed up almost since the site started. It's sort of like being in the mafia, they don't seem to let you out. God forbid they pull a "Gratis" along the way. You'll see me on the 10 O'clock news going postal.

how'd you get your refs? trades? you don't have a very large TR......

Word of mouth, email sigs, messageboard sigs (where allowed) and, most importantly, lots and lots of time.

That very last part is my "secret" to getting refs. (

Well, your "secret" is now out... he he

Given Freepay's recent time limit, I may consider doing another OC site. I was thinking about notebooks4free, but I'd like a laptop sooner than the end of this year.

I really want to do this site but I am afraid that I cannot get that many referrals. I am willing to spend $400 or so to do this. Should I do this site or a DIY?

Bill

You should probably do a DIY, I am doing notebooks4free and it is kinda pain. I am paying $100 per OOD and still have 4 more OODs to go, I'll probably end up paying about $1200 for refs in all for the MBP.

OOD refs go for about $50-$60

Or [i35acc1ef31]did[/i35acc1ef31], until Bill came along...

lol, well since OC revamped OODs its hard to get them for $50-$60 I pay $125 and have hard time getting them.

Bill

05-05-2006 16:43:26

Yeah the OODs are harder to do than before so the amount I have to offer has to adjust accordingly.

yeps, yeps

I found the only way its cost effective to make it worth finishing OC sites is free greens. If you cant get at least half your required greens for free your screwed, lol
