If you registered with a Canadian address, you will most likely be disqualified.

Do they only check your IP address when you sign up?

No, I registered with a US address but my IP is Canadian at the moment because I'm in Canada

Well, if your IP was in the United States when you signed up, you should be fine.

And also, I am pretty sure they just record registration IP's to make sure they are American. That's why people can signup at home and then go to school and check their status and then in the end get approved, they probably only check registration IP's.

if i'm not mistaken they don't really care about IP's other then to make sure each one is unique. Someone could be on vacation in australia or something and sign up, as long as their mailing address was located in the US they SHOULD be fine

They disqualified me because it said I signed up from Buesnos Ares...which I didn't. They haven't taken me off hold and said they wouldn't, oh wel..
